All the packing was done, so she took a diet coke and went out to watch TV. The remote was on the table as she tried to pay attention to The March of the Penguins...but she fell asleep anyhow.

"I know that, but it's fun." Well, not the butlering as much, but "Hunting vampires is fun!" Walter turned around to give CJ a big hug. "I like you."

Squeezing him tightly, she totally and utterly melted. "Aww, Walter, I like you too."

Four years without mum hugs, Walter now thought CJ was the best thing ever.

But even the best thing ever can only hold a four year old's attention for so long. So Walter planted a sloppy kiss on CJ's cheek and wriggled to signal he wanted down.

She let him go, reluctantly, and ruffled his hair once again. "Are you off to do big things, Walter?"

Walter nodded solemnly. "Big things, 'cause I'm a big boy. I'm gonna take Pup for a walk and play with my friends. Can I come back for a story later?"
