The gym, Saturday afternoon

Aeryn really has been meaning to get back here more. She's just been... busy. and really, when she keeps having increasingly disturbing conversations over the last few days, it's time to hit something. It's either that or freak out more, and she's decided the last thing isn't an option.

The punching bag probably never misses her.

Cameron enters the gym because apparently finishing finals means he gets to skip work too. All things considered he's in a pretty good mood so when he spots Aeryn, he decides to try a new thing. "Yello!"

Aeryn stops hitting and turns to look at him.

Cameron bounces on his feet and adds a "Yo".

"That's better," she says.

He laughs. "You don't like the word 'yello'?"

"Not particularly," she says. "Stick to 'yo.'"

"Yes, ma'am." Cameron says seriously before bouncing again. "School's out for summer. Okay, not exactly out yet, but pretty close."

"I took my last final. It's out," she says, turning around to hit the bag again.

"Right, driving. How did it go? Did you actually get to drive in a normal car this time around?" He asks as he moves over to the machines.

Parker came in and started in on her Aikido again, stretching, running through drills, kick-punch-block-kick. "Hey."

Aeryn takes a break from hitting to greet her with a "Hey."

"How's it going? I saw you survived the Driver's Ed Final." Parker does another kick, and then a serious of blocks and punches. "I think Dr. Tommy needs a serious, serious round of therapy for that test."

"Well, the next time I see a giant gecko chasing me in the street, I know how to get rid of it," she nods.

Parker chuckled, then did a few more kicks. "Do Peacekeepers have unarmed fighting styles? Not boxing, but anything like what I'm doing?"

"Several," Aeryn answers. "We have to train in them in the eventuality of hand-to-hand combat. What is that you're doing?"

"Aikido. My independent study for this semester has been interesting. It works better with my boxing background than the judo I was studying." She did another block, then a low kick. "It's more about the throws and unbalancing your opponent than it is about the punches. I've only been practicing against Professor MacLeod up until now. Are you up for a match?"

"Not so much at the moment, I've been here a while. And a big post is about to be starting soon, yeep.," she says. "Will you be around tomorrow?"

Rory wandered in midafternoon, her hair in a high bun and dressed in shin-length sweats and low-top shoes with leather wraparounds.

She retrieved a lightweight practice foil, and deciding that she actually liked people today, walked to the piste off to the side instead of the actual fencing salle.

She bit her lip, closed her eyes, and tried to remember her basic footwork from a rather long while ago.

And then she started on a set of advances, her movements steady and fluid.

On a break from hitting stuff, Aeryn doesn't want to ruin Rory's concentration, but folds her arms and watches. She's never seen it before.

In the middle of transitioning from an appel-lunge back into a redouble, Rory noticed Aeryn watching.

And of course, she stumbled slightly. "Hi!"

"Hi. Don't stop on my account," she says.

"I totally look like I'm sword-fighting with no one," Rory explained. "But I'm really not. I mean, I am, but I'm not like, fighting anything. This is just a training exercise."

"I assumed so," she says. "Unless Vladdie's imaginary friend is taller than I thought."

"No, Steve is a kitty and I'm pretty sure they can't fence," she replied thoughtfully.

"Oh," she says. "I learned something today, then."
