First Floor Lobby - afternoon

Rita had handwavily turned in her various forms, and wearing dark mauve robes and a pair of sunglasses - because not only was it bright, but after last night, they were a neccessity - started to make her way through the lobby and back to the house to retrieve her things.

It'd be a pity if someone stopped her.

Really, he had to see if what Draco told him was true. Seeing her in the lobby of the dorms pretty much confirms that Draco was telling the truth.

"You look a little down," he says, staying a distance back.

Rita stared.

And stared some more.

"...Mr. Diggory?" she finally said.

"Oh, you haven't forgotten me yet, have you?" Cedric steps closer. "Heard from Draco you were here. Came to see for myself."

"...are you a ghost?" she wondered, tilting her head. "You don't look like one."

"Why would I be a ghost?" Cedric asks. "Or is this just another story you're looking to write? Cedric Diggory, the ghost of Fandom High?"

"Erm." Rita just continued to stare. "You're not an Inferus," she mused.

Veronica was making her way through the lobby after picking up the keys to her new dorm room.

"Professor Skeeter," she said with a wry smile. "I must say I'm disappointed."

"...in what?" Rita asked meekly, though Veronica was certainly one of the better students to run into.

"You didn't say goodbye to me during your broadcast last night," Veronica said, putting on her best sad face.

OMG I DIDN'T. ACK.

"I didn't?" Rita asked, surprised. "I was reading through the roster. How did I miss you?" She frowned. "Then you get a sober goodbye. You were my best student in Journalistic Integrity, and you'll be missed."

Nope, I see how it is. You just don't love me anymore. *sniff*

"Maybe your eyes notes were blurry?" Veronica suggested. She was surprised at Rita's words though. "Thanks. Good luck next year. I'm sure I'll be back to visit. I'm going to be leaving some friends behind."

Well, yes. And also I was writing at like three AM omg. But it's mostly the not loving you thing, yes.

"Good. Then I'm sure I'll see you again," Rita said, nodding.

Peter passed through the lobby and just glared. He wasn't going near Skeeter. She might magic him half-naked again.

That didn't stop him from yelling "MAKE YOUR MONSTER GROW!" and running off laughing, though.

John's lounging in the lobby, taking a break from the insanity when he sees Professor Skeeter crossing the lobby.

"So, is the next step for us to get married?"

Rita facepalmed. "Go away," she ground out.

"Not a chance," John replies. "The radio broadcast was quite touching. I might've even shed a tear."

Still trying to find her way around, it's purely by chance that Hermione happens to end up in the lobby.

Surprised or not, she has no problem greeting Rita with a frustrated, "Oh, not you, too."

Rita felt a bit like crying.

"You don't look happy to see me."

"You noticed that?"

"It is a bit obvious," she says. "What are you doing here?"
