Roof, Night

Pip was up on the roof that night. Because, really, what better way to greet the new people than with an improptu unasked for concert?


He plugged his guitar into the amp and struck the first chord.

Oh yeah.

"Pippi? Learn to use the stairs," Pip said.

"I know how to use the stairs."

Pippi's voice drifted up as a hand with a pair of drumsticks in them appeared over the edge.

"And the reason you don't use them is?" Pip asked, playing another chord.

Pippi has no answer, she shrugs.

Music drew Demyx like a moth to flame. Only maybe moreso. Though he did have about the same attention span as a moth most of the time. Anyway, he followed the hard-to-hear sound of music up to the roof, having just checked out his room and claimed a bed. "I heard music," he explained, looking at Pip.

Reaching up, he summoned his sitar out of the air. "Jam session?" he asked hopefully.

Pip's eye widened. "Nice trick," he said, hitting another chord.

"Jam session."

"Thanks. It's normal." He grinned, running his fingers up and down the strings in a quick warmup. The thing with his instrument was, though he called it a sitar, it really sounded more like an ordinary electric guitar. "Jam session is good. And I'll try to keep the water duplicates to a minimum." Demyx grinned broadly, little music notes made of water forming around him.

Pippi is mesmerized by the sparkling little floaty notes.

"Well," Pip said, hitting a power chord. "Your consideration is most apprecaited."

Demmyx copied the chord, and added another one. "Yeah, I figured you'd appreciate that." He improvised a fast finger-picking melody before looking up at Pip again. "So uh...what do you wanna play?"

Pippi looked from Pip to Demyx and wondered if there were drum sets that plugged into an amp.

Pip grinned. "You're the new one here. You choose."

"Uh...most of the time I just make stuff up. But you can't really do that when there's multiple people, can you?" Actually playing WITH someone was new to Demyx; he was used to being on his own.

"They do in jazz jam sessions," Pip said. "But I just got a bunch of stitches out and that sounds like too much work. Let's try... this."

He played the first few opening chords to "Stairway to Heaven".

Demyx didn't know the song, but some part of him did. His fingers remembered it, at least, joining in with Pip after just a few chords.

Pip grinned and stepped up the tempo a wee bit. "See, you know these songs?"

Pippi didn't think this song needs a beat so she sat quietly listening to the boys play.

[[ooc: I liked Demyx as a character more then the fight. "Dance Water, Dance!" was a good catch phrase however.]]

Demyx pushed him faster, grinning a challenge. "Only in my fingers."

Pip grinned back and matched his pace. "They say muscle memory is better than the rest of the memory."

"Well I guess they'd be right, right?" He couldn't stop grinning. It was so cool actually getting to do this with someone else.

"I guess so," Pip said, grinning madly. "Let's have a little fun, then." He suddenly switched direction and switched into a handwavey heavy metal piece.

This? Pippi can drum for.

Oh look, some planters and an air vent.

So. There was this boy living in Nadia's room now. Which was fine. Great. People are always good.

But she's a little embarrassed to practice in front of him.

So she goes to the other place she practices guitar: the roof.

Oh look, people.

"Hey Pip, Pippi, new person,"

Pip nodded towards Nadia, still grinning like a maniac. "Nadia? Demyx. Demyx? Nadia. Come, Nadia. Plug in your amp and join us!"
