Logan was in the kitchen. Cooking. Because when you were in a kitchen, working with a blender, you could call it cooking. Even if the result was more beverage-y than food-y. It was practically summer, anyway. Perfect time for a cold iced drink. With tequila.

The television was playing "Annie".

"I'll be a fif- sophomore," she corrects, shaking Parker's hand. "It feels very... new."

"Different from England, I'm guessing? Less formal, more with the insanity?" Parker perched on the edge of the couch. "Or are there other factors?"

"It's the same, but very different," says Hermione. That statement includes some of the exact same people, even. "It's a bit hard to explain."

Parker studies the younger girl, and says, "Anything got you worried? I mean, I know you've heard all the invasion stories by now, but it's really not like that 24/7. Once a month, maybe once every two months, that kind of thing happens. Max."

"I have heard about the zombies, yes," she says. "It happens more often?"

Looking thoughtful, Parker started counting things off on her fingers. "Zombies, September. Angelus, November. Snowmonsters, late January. That mess with the other vampires, February and March. Actually, I suppose we're about due at this point. What a thought." She grinned. "On an up-side? Sometimes there are amusing things like pageants and all of us becoming small children, which just happened a couple weeks ago. So maybe the Island is done messing with us for this month."

Hermione is petitioning for the use of her wand, yes. "I should really hope so," she says honestly.

"It's summer. No vampires when we've got sixteen hours of sunlight. And no classes. It has to be easier than last term." Parker looked thoughtful. "I'm not really reassuring you, am I?"

"I'd like the classes now," she says.

Parker cocked an eyebrow at her. "What, you don't need a break? No wish to veg out and let your brain recover for a while? Which workshops did you sign up for?"

"I prefer not having a break," Hermione nods. "I took Observational Astronomy, since I wanted to take it this year in school but will otherwise miss it, and that Scoobying 101 class, though I feel stupid for saying it. It's a long story."
