Second Floor Common Room: Friday Morning (around Nine-Tenish)

The nametag and pen stuffed under Jack's door were a bit surprising. Since he wasn't technically a new student, he compromised and just wore the name tag. If someone wanted to write his name on [his forehead or wherever] later, he wouldn't object. Combining nametags with shirtless day didn't seem like such a good idea: where were people supposed to stick their nametags once they stripped out of their shirts?

Shirtless, name tag stuck to the pocket of his black jeans, Jack was currently dancing in the kitchen. Yeah, he knew shirtless day didn't start until after dinner, he just didn't want to wait.

If you thought he was cooking, you wouldn't be wrong. No pancakes, but there's bacon, eggs, toast and coffee.

Lots and lots of coffee.

Cedric's exploring again, having found the common room on his floor and the gym. Upon coming to the second floor common room, he finds a dancing, half naked student.

This was new.

Checking to make sure his nametag's visible on his shirt, he clears his throat. "Good morning."

Drawn by the smell of coffee and food, Sam made her way blearily into the common room, where she spotted Jack Harkness in black jeans and without a shirt. "Morning."

She blinked. Nope, not a mirage. Still very pretty and without a shirt. "Jack? You're back?"

"And you as well," he says, coming in further into the common room. Offering his hand, he says, "Nice to meet you, Jack."

After a rude awakening, Jamie wandered down to the second floor to see what all the fuss was about.

Apparently the fuss is about a guy cooking breakfast without a shirt on.

"Should you be cooking without a shirt on? One spatter and it's grease burn city." Jamie said with a cocked eyebrow.

"Oh, that sucks," Sam said, offering her hand, "Sam Carter, we had quantum physics and played with Legos together, and absolutely."

Sam waved with her cup of coffee. "Hi, I'm Sam Carter."

Sam decided the nametags were a really good idea. "Hi Cedric, I'm Sam. I didn't get a nametag."

"Just the coffee, thank you," Jamie said with a chuckle. "I'm not qualified to treat burns. Why the lack of shirt? I'm Jamie Madrox by the way"

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"England, yes," he confirms, nodding. "And coffee, I hear, is quite popular here. I could try some, I believe. You've been up long, then?"

She grinned as she accepted the coffee. "You're a god among men, Harkness. But what's with the lack of shirt?" Not that she was complaining, exactly.

"Good morning, Sam." He nods and pats his nametag. "Perhaps they were a good idea. The sudden appearance was surprising though."

"Hi Sam Carter," Jamie said returning the wave. "Jamie Madrox. New guy. Care to give the required warning of 'what's weird about Fandom'?"

[identity profile] multi-madrox.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Jamie of course refused to wear a name tag but he waved at Cedric from behind his cup of coffee.

"Hey fellow new guy. Jamie Madrox. I refuse to follow the law of wearing a name tag."

"Weird stuff just happens here sometimes," she said, reaching for a piece of bacon, "and compared to the bunnies and gremlins, this is kind of tame. And helpful."

[identity profile] multi-madrox.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Shirtless day?" Jamie said as he added a ton of cream and sugar into his coffee. "So we're supposed to run around with a shirt on? Any particular reason why?"

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
She laughed. "You've been here three days, so I assume you've already heard the speeches. Let's see...zombies, most vampires, tiny bunnies, small children, cafeteria food, gremlins, and washing machines are bad. Did I forget anything?"

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes, I've heard of the bunnies and the gremlins." Cedric takes a seat on one of the couches. "You've been here long then?"

[identity profile] multi-madrox.livejournal.com 2006-05-12 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"I had a long lengthy conversation last night about how tuna is an evil fishy," Jamie added. "But I don't think that has anything to do with going to this school."
