Gym: Afternoon

After doing the weight training and cardio thing, Jamie is doing his own version of a workout.

Currently his face is screwed up in concentration as he hits a punching bag as hard as he can.

Each time he hits it, he looks around as though expecting someone to appear out of no where.

So far? No one appears to be showing up.

Because she's not really exercised in ages and she doesn't actually have anything better to do Paige walks in and heads towards the treadmill until she sees the guy, "hey, not interrupting you am I?"

"Nope," Jamie said concentrating on the back before throwing another punch. "Just doing a little training. I'm Jamie by the way."

"Paige," she replied reaching round to tie her hair up as she started the machine, "you're one of the new guys I tak it? Unless I've just missed you up til now, which with me is always a possibility."

"Yep. New guy," Jamie said taking another punch at the bag. "If you want to fill me in on all the weirdness around here you can, but I think I've heard just about everything. Well... almost everything."

She thought for a moment as she started to run, he probably knew as much as she did if he'd spoken to the right people.

"Okay, well have you heard about the zombies, snow monsters, lockers that suck you into different realities, gremlins that turn you bat shit crazy and food that makes you sing classic 70s hits?" she asked figuring that pretty covered everything.

"Yep," Jamie said with small grin as he gave the punching bag another wallop. "Heard all of that. Except you forgot the wee tiny bunnies and the slime."

"I was um..elsewhere for the bunnies, just my luck really, that'd miss the cute stuff but catch all the things that wanted to kill me." she told him increasing her speed just a little.

"So how are you liking it here so far?"

"People here are pretty nice," Jamie said with a little shrug. "I'm not too happy about my roommate, Nadia, getting the crap kicked out of here but other than that I kind of like it here."

She stopped the machine and looked at him for a moment, "something's happened to Nadia? Any idea who did it?" she asked, worried.

Z came down to the gym in workout clothes, ready to practice her wire-fu martial arts. "Hi, Jamie."

"Hey Z," Jamie said throwing another punch at the back. He must have been a little distracted for some reason as a duplicate suddenly appeared next to him.

"Great. Just when I thought I was getting this down," Jamie muttered.

"Well you were until sh-"

Jamie quickly absorbed the duplicate. "So. Uh. How's it going?"

"I could go away if you want to punch things in solitude," Z volunteered. "Don't want to screw up your concentration. It's going good. I did sweet jack-all yesterday, which was nice. You?"

"No you can stay," Jamie said quickly. "Not much happened to me yesterday. I almost got tasered and visited my roommate over in the clinic. That was pretty much it. Pretty much your normal day here, I guess. I feel like I'm just kind of treading water until the workshops start up. Which ones have you signed up for?"

"You almost got tasered? Wow. I've been stunned a few times, does that count? Oh, First Aid, Karate with Doctor Tommy Oliver eee, and uh, Scoobying 101, which I don't actually know what that is but the teacher seems nice."

"Oh sure, being stunned totally counts," Jamie agreed with a nod. "Heh. You know we have two workshops together right? First Aid and Scoobying? I also have the Applied Dadaism and Entertainer workshop. So... Karate, huh? You're into martial arts?"

"That's great! Maybe we can...study together or something. I know a little bit of this and that mostly wire-fu but it's kind of necessary for this future job-thing of mine."

"Sure. I'd be happy to study together. Or something," Jamie said with a nod. "I know a little martial arts myself. I'm not that great but if you want to spar...?"

Aeryn's knee is feeling better, so she heads into the gym. She seems to be doing that daily now. Noticing the others, she goes to one of the machines, adjusts the weight, and starts there.

Jamie waved at the girl he hadn't met yet.

"Hey girl I haven't met yet. Jamie Madrox. New Guy. Feel free to try and weird me out with the Fandom stuff."

That's one of the more creative introductions so far. "Aeryn Sun," she tells him. "I think I'll assume you've heard about all the oddness."

"Zombies? Snow Demons? Wee Tiny bunnies?" Jamie asked. "That sound pretty accurate?"

"Gremlins, vampires, giant squid. Pretty accurate, yes."

"Good to know. So what's your deal Aeryn Sun?"

"Your story. Your history. Your life. Why are you here? What do you want? Where are you going?" Jamie asked. "C'mon... I ask every other student that and I get a 20 minute disseration on their life. With footnotes."
