Roof - Monday late afternoon

Demyx had eventually retreated to the roof to practice, since it was pretty much deserted now. He sat down on the roof itself, not bothering to find something else to sit on, and summoned his sitar.

He warmed up before moving into more complicated, full songs, each chord as he progressed becoming stronger with magic. About halfway through the first song chorus, small geysers were shooting up at random around the roof, dissipating as they came crashing back down. The blonde had to admire the way the droplets caught the light from the sun and reflected back rainbows; he never got tired of his element.

John wandered up to the roof, armed with a slingshot and some paint balls for some "range testing" of some sort.

Instead of peace and quiet, he found some dude with a freakin' mandolin and a sprinkler problem.

Ranma notices that the weather doesn't indicate rain and he leaves his umbrella in his room to go explore the upper floors. He finds, to his surprise, a roof. He happens to endter the roof when water is nowhere to be seen, except in still looking, harmless puddles.

He instantly enjoys the roof's openess and he greets John with a a single wave, "Yo."

John seems kinda lumpy, as if there's something in his cargo pants. But that would be wrong, especially here on the roof. "Heya. How's life in Fandom?"

Ranma speculates this lumpyness for a moment and decided to be blunt with his usual social expertise, "Great. What's in your pants?"

"Absolutely nothing. And I don't have one for you." The pose he strikes whilst proclaiming innocence lets loose a single paintball, which rolls to the edge of the roof.

Ranma laughs a bit. "Don't worry. I won't rat you out or something like that. I just came up here because I only today found out we had a roof. It's nice and breezey up here."

"Most buildings have one, you know. It's the thing that keeps the floors dry. And walls."

This, is of course, a good point. Ranma is happy to finally find someone who has a bit of pushing back skills. He grins, "Well I never knew. Thank you for telling me. I finally have a proper understanding of architecture."

"That's what I'm here for. Next week, we'll go over furniture, such as desks and chairs. Maybe even tables. Or cabinets." That pesky smirk is ruining his straight face.

"I might be lucky enough to learn about complex machines you find in building's like lightswitches and doors." He grins again.

"You should meet the Dane. OR the Thane. Whatever his name is. Freaked out at the lightswitch. And the shower. Heard about it on the radio, him amazed that they could channel cold and hot water."

"Isn't technology just stunning?" The mention of water cuts away at his smugness and discomforts him for a moment.

"Not exactly." John's grin dropped.

Ranma surprised by such a reaction shrugs and drops it. "So I think I can guess why you're up here?"

"And what would that be?" Not as serious.

"Well uh... throwing paint?" He's never seen paint balls before, he just notices they're... paint...

"Well, it'd be a bit pointless to just throw 'em. I mean, who can throw 'em that fast? Or that hard? Impossible."

John unlimbers his wrist rocket. "This helps."

Ranma nods slowly, not quite getting it all at once. "So who are you aiming at?"

"Just target practice. Trees, mostly. The Water-Balloon Ninja. Whatever."

He laughs. "You wouldn't happen to have those ballons with you now right? Practice for what? When the full feldged paint war breaks out?"

"Yes, actually. Ever heard of 'assassin' style tag?"

"Nope. I'm from Japan. Is that an American game?"

"Not exactly. It's... it's like tag, with guns. Water pistols or paint ball guns. Everyone's a target and a hitman. You gotta get your target before you get zapped." He's grinning again.

Ranma looks nervous aobut this look. ESPECIALLY about the water. "Sounds... fun... so tag is where... you hit the person and they have to hit you?" Too much termage to get, but the water he understood too well.

((OOC: Just splash him since I think Demyx-mun left when I napped o.o;; I feel bad about that... Also Ranma-mun is going to go binge pizza bagels and will be back shortly))

"Yeah, you just sneak up on whoever it is and zap 'em. I mean, they don't know who their hitman is, just that their a target, y'know? Just pow!"

At that, John pulls out a small water pistol (http://blake.prohosting.com/cbac/Power1.gif) and shoots it at Ranma.
