Today's floor of choice? The 3rd. Bel continued to test them out to see which he and Phoebe wanted to move to. Unfortunately, it was too early for "Passions." He flipped through the channels, looking for something to watch.

"Yeah," Bel said. "Saves on air fare."

"Air fare?"

"It's the price people pay to travel long distances in metal tubes that fly in the sky," Bel said helpfully.

Briar's imagination helfully offered him the vision of people packed into metal cans and getting to far away places. "Hunh?"

How did one explain airplanes to someone who had never seen them before? "Nevermind," Bel said. "It's just a way people travel."

"I'll take your word for it." Briar severly doubted airplanes actually existed. "So how did you wind up here?"

"Got sent here to learn to act like a human," Bel said. "Fortunately, it seems to have worked too well."

Briar moved his ankle and checked that the dagger hidden there was within easy reach. "Oh?"

"I'm atoning for my wicked ways now," Bel said.
