Third Floor Common Room, Late Friday Night

Unable to sleep, Z took her SPD handbook and The Amethyst Flower and went to the common room to read. Either she'd read until she was sleepy, or somebody would come by and distract her. Either way would be fine by her.

Molly was thinking too much to sleep so she went wandering. Spotting Z, she entered the room.

"Hey," she said with a wave. "I don't think I've met you yet."

Z looked up from her book and smiled. "Oh, hi. I don't think so, yeah. I'm Z Delgado."

Hermione hasn't been able to sleep, either, so she heads into the common room just to get out of her room for a while. She's carrying Crookshanks with her, and is glad to see other people. "Hello," she greets them.

"Z? Nice to meet you, Z," she said and sat down nearby. "I'm Molly Hayes. Reading anything good?"

Greg had tried to sleep. It hadn't worked out. It was a happy sort of insomnia, though.

So late Friday night found him wandering into the common room in a white t-shirt and blue pajama pants, hair sticking up more than usual.

"Hey," he said, waving and yawning simultaneously.

"Hey, girl I don't know. Hi, kitty," Greg said.

"I'm Hermione," she introduces herself. "This is Crookshanks. You are?"

"Hi, Hermione," he said, pronouncing her name carefully. "And hello to Crookshanks. I'm Greg."

"The travails of a pirate-ninja princess in love. It can all only end in tears. Or sexing," Z added with a thoughtful frown.

"Hi! I'm Z. Is that your cat?"

"Nice hair," Z said by way of greeting.

She's very glad he got the name right. "It's good to meet you," she says. "Are you new here, too?"

"Kitty!" Molly said before looking at the person carrying the cat. "Hi, I don't think we've met yet. I'm Molly Hayes."

While pondering a few papercuts on her fingers, Sakurazaki developed a theory about common rooms and, in the pursuit of knowledge, moved herself down a floor. She heard the soft din of conversation accompanied by soft light and felt her theory was confirmed. She poked her ponytailed head into the room.

"Yes, his name's Crookshanks," she says. "I'm Hermione. Hello."

Greg shrugged, flopping onto a couch. "You're just jealous."

Molly giggled. "Isn't that always the way? Any good, or just fluff?"

"Hey," Z said, smiling warmly at the newcomer. "Can't sleep? C'mon in. I'm Z, Z Delgado."

"Yup. Just got in last week." He eyed Crookshanks. "Does he like to be petted?"

"Hermione Granger," she introduces herself. "Hi."

Crookshanks looks curiously at Molly, and continues to blink. As cats do.

"That must be it," Z said teasingly. "I'm jealous of the height you get from your hair."

She smiled back, stepping into the room and slumping into a chair by the door. "Precisely," she says. "I'm Sakurazaki. I come from the forth floor in search of life. My search seems successful."

Crookshanks wiggles a little, but Hermione holds him steady. "You can, he'll be fine."

"Nice to meet you, Hermione. Do you think he'd let me pet him? Would that be okay?"

The cat is apparently a conversation starter. She continues to hold him, despite the cat's silent wriggly protest, and says, "Go ahead."
