Gun Range: Late afternoon (After Gun Club and Cheerleader practice)

The SAFETY RULES are still up from earlyer.

Pippi is disappointed that she missed gun club but the range is still here.

She gets her flintlocks out to clean and load them. She also has to assemble the gun Pip gave her for her birthday.

Somewhere, unbeknownst to her, her friends are being adorable and a Mountie is being awesome.

Pip opened up the weapons locker and pulled out a Glock of his own. "Now, have you ever used an automatic before?"

"Tex gave me that MD6 thing when the snow monsters were about. And Marty and John showed me how to use rifles that were automatic." she said assembling the gun with the documentation open in front of her.

Pip nodded. "Well, it's a bit different in this case. Here, these are the important parts." He said, showing to them and explaining in turn. "You then eject the mag and load in a new one."

"Is there anything special to do while aiming it?" Pippi asked as she slammed a magazine home and pointed the gun at the target.

"Or is there anything you'd like to talk about?"

"Yes," Pip said. "Steady your arm. Even if you're super strong, the kick can suprise you. It's also just good for your aiming in general."

"And no. Not particularly."

Pippi cupped her off hand under her gun hand and squeezed off a shot.

Frowning at the target she says, "I always shoot high with the automatic stuff, why is that?"

She trys again but it still goes high.

"I supposed the question I should have asked 'Is there anything you need to talk about?' But it's not my place I suppose."

*blam blam blam*

"Different recoil than you're used to, most likely. Are you pulling or squeezing the trigger? And quit beating around the bush and ask me what you want to ask me."

"I'm trying to squeeze, but I guess I could be pulling..." She said trying again. This went a little better.

*click* *snap*

"And I did ask you what I wanted to ask you. You know what I'm talking about mainly, you're not stupid. If you wanted to talk about that, I'll listen to you. If you want to talk about something else, that's fine too. If you don't want to talk about anything but why I can't aim this thing right that is also fine. I don't see why it needs to be more complicated then 'Is there anything you want or need to talk about?'"

"Stead your arms and shoot with both hands," Pip said. "Strength is great, but it goes by too fast for even the strongest people to be able to react to it."


"Because generally, after there's been a falling out or a fight of some sort, and any one asks 'Do you want to talk about something?', it generally means 'Do you want to talk about the big fight that just happened?'"

Pippi gives up.

"Yes."

"Not particularly," Pip said. "I'm angry, she's angry. She's being stubborn and stupid and doesn't want to listen to anyone, I'm trying to keep her from hurting her arm more than it already is."

He shrugged and pulled on his protective gear. "Watch me. Try to copy the stance and grip."

*BLAM BLAM BLAM*

Pippi watched him shoot and then did her best to copy him.

"Why are you angry?"

"Because she's being incredibly bitchy and vindictive to anyone who tries to show concern."

*BLAM BLAM BLAM*

Pip ejected the catridge and loaded a new one.

Pippi grabbed a loaded flintlock from the shelf in front of them and shot the target in the throat just to make herself feel better about her aim.

*BOOM*

"Did you consider changing your tactic?"

"Didn't have much of a chance," Pip said. "She was on me almost immediately."

Pippi fiddled with her flintlock before putting it down and trying the glock again.

"Hang on, mind if I adjust your stance a little?"

"Um... Okay."

Pippi lined up her shot and waited.

Pip put his gun down and walked over. He shifted her stance slightly and changed the position of her arms. "Now try it."

Pippi is not at all distracted by this. Nope, not one bit thinking about how good he smells.

She took a moment to take aim no really, she was aiming really carefully and squeezed the trigger.

That was much better.

"That's great." she said turning her head to look at him and grin. "Now if you could just stand behind me any time we're in a shoot out..."

"I dunno," Pip said. "I'm a lot taller than you. I think you'd make a pretty lousy human shield."

"I guess I'll have to find a step stool to carry about with me then."

"Not a very good battle strategy," Pip said, grinning. "Hang on, let me get up on my step stool! Please don't shoot me! Hang on a second!"

"Stilts? Really tall shoes? ... Perhaps find something less murderous to be possessed by so I could grow four more inches? put all shootouts on hold until I'm done growing?"

"Well," Pip said, picking up his gun again and pulling on his hear protection. "I'd imagine it'd actually help you, being short. You'd make a smaller and harder to hit target."

"I'm only short compared to you now." she said. "But then anybody but Andre the Giant is short compared to you."

"Touche," Pip said. "Touche. I can't help it if I have really, really, tall genes, though, can I? Blame my parents." And the universe I live in. Where gravity is not as strong. *nods*

"I will." she said, "And complain bitterly to Mama every night that I have to wait to see if I will get any taller."

Some of us don't have such a convenient excuse for their physics defying hair. Some of us have hair that defy physics for the hell of it.

"Funny," Pip said. "Girls are supposed to get their growth spurt faster than boys. Than again, I am like two or three years older than you."

What? I totally made that up. I operate under anime physics! WHere you can survive any fall as long as you do a flip before you land.

"I suppose only time will tell." she nodded. "As is the way with most things."

*click click shack blam blam blam*

Is unfettered by the need to flip as she operates under Swedish Children's Literature physics. Though will probably start flipping just to fit in with the majority of her friends.
