Fifth floor common room, Saturday evening

Nadia was once again stretched out on the couch in the common room with a notebook on her lap. This time the things she was scribbling had less to do with tormenting her roommate with a morality bot and more to do with what a "snorkack" might look like.

She imagined it was very hairy.

The TV was on and turned to some movie about a grown man attending classes in an elementary school. She'd deny it forever, but the fart jokes make her laugh.

"What's so funny?"

Nadia blushed ever so slightly and refocused on her notebook. "Nothing. Funny joke. I heard. Earlier. How are you, Pippi?"

"Hungry enough to make me a sammitch." she said rooting in the fridge.

"Ya want one?"

"Sure, thank you." As long as it doesn't end up in my lap. "What have you been up to, all day?"

"You're welcome." It won't, my cannon says I have better aim with food stuffs. "I went to the cheerleading tryouts and then I practiced at the gun range with Pip."

"Oh! Those were today! I talked to Buffy about that. I guess I wouldn't have been able to try out anyway, though." Nadia frowned down at her notebook, choosing not to comment on the gun practice with Pip. Rat bastard. "How'd it go?"

"It was pretty relaxed." she said pulling out a bunch of stuff from the fridge and assembling some open faced salami sandwiches. "We didn't really doing any running or jumping ~~climbing trees, putting on makeup while you're up there~~. Buffy just explained some things and showed us a cheer and answered questions."

Dammit, she totally could have done that, then. "Oh. Well I'm sorry I missed it, then. Maybe I'll just have to try the basketball team." She smiled to show she was joking ~~mostly~~.

"Or maybe we could get a mascot costume for you to wear!" Pippi offered.

Nadia shrugged. "The school mascot is the gremlin, isn't it? Knowing Fandom, if I dressed up as a gremlin, I'd end up turning into one, or something."

"Yes, that would be uncomfortable."

~~"And what if I bit someone?"~~

"Plus, a gremlin costume would probably be really heavy."

Don't worry, I've already decided I could totally kill you. Speaking of which, how's that sandwich? *grin*

"Awww, you're a strong enough gal."

had to. the question is if you could kill someone if you had to.

"Well, I'm glad someone things so," Nadia muttered. "But maybe I can still squeeze in on the cheerleading thing. Or organize a football team to go with the basketball team. Because I'm pretty good at football."

~~You're going to turn into a gremlin! It's a preventative measure! ...Find eat this sandwich if you want to live... Sheesh.~~

Pippi pretends not to hear the muttering. "Football means body paint and people who rip off their shirts when a goal is made. I approve."

"And there will be more for the cheerleaders to cheer for. And more body paint can't possibly be a bad thing."

Mmm. Body paint.

"What will Fandom High Footballers wear besides a smile?"

"Defensive weaponry."

"Mace, mallets, pit bulls... and a smile?"

"Don't forget the tasers." Nadia smirked. "And possibly glitter."

"And folder helmets..." Pippi grinned back. "Safety first."

"Safety? In football?" Nadia shook her head. "Then we might as well play the American version."

"Good point." Pippi said, "Down with folder helmets!"

Nadia pumped her fist in the air in agreement.

Tim now found himself in the fifth floor common room. and hey look!

"Hi people I know!"

Nadia smiled. "Hey Tim. Did you know fairies apparently send magazine subscriptions ~~to porn~~?"

"And plush lobsters!" Pippi smiled at Tim and waved a buttery butter knife at him.

"Would you like a sandwich?

Tim's mouth stayed open for a moment. He'd known Palamon was going to apologize, but he hadn't known they'd get gifts. "No, I did not know that. Lord Palamon told me they were going to do something, but," he giggled. "Plush lobsters and magazine subscriptions? And yeah a sandwich sounds good, what kind are you making?"

"You got lobsters?" Nadia asked Pippi, not at all jealous, of course. "Huh. Oh, and Tim, do you know what a snorkack is?"

"Salami." she said, taking a plate of sandwiches made with crusty bread over to Nadia.

"I got two lobsters!" she said to her as she handed the plate over.

She turned to Tim. "Um... I'm sorry to ask Tim but Ad... She gave me the impression that gifts from fairies were dangerious... Your lot are a different sort then her... So that's not the case I'm thinking... Am I right?"

"A snorkack, as I've recently learned, is a Swedish monster. Or maybe not a monster. I think it's their version of Bigfoot."

He turned to Pippi. "Salami sounds good. And yeah, Lord Palamon wrote and told me that A-, she was Unseelie. Which he was pretty intent on me knowing was not associated with his group. So I'd say the lobsters are safe." He wasn't certain they wouldn't turn out to be more than ordinary stuffed lobsters of course.

Pippi got two lobsters. Nadia got a magazine subscription about Swedish monsters.

Fae logic did not resemble Earth logic.

"Huh." She grabbed the sandwhich and took a bite. "Thanks, Pippi,"

"Sure," she said, "enjoy ~~your totally not poisoned sandwitch~~. Oh you mean the big things with the crumply horns?"

"You know them?" Tim asked Pippi.

Pippi crossed her eyes at Tim as she handed him a plate with some sandwiches.

"Duh," she said pointing to herself, "Swedish."

Tim frowned thoughtfully. "I'm not sure I knew that." he said. "that you were Swedish i mean. So snorkacks have, what'd you call it, crumpley horns?"

"Oh yes. They're very..."

She waved her hands vaguely around her head.

"...crumpled."

"So you've actually seen them? You should talk to Luna."

"Why? Does one owe her money?"

"I, don't think so." Tim said. Okay non-possesed Pippi was kinda weird. In a good way. "But she's the one who told me about them in the first place, and from she said, I don't think many people have ever seen one."

Non-possesed Pippi does not try to kill or molest you... At least, not unless you ask nicely and say "please".

"Oh yes they're very shy... Quite self-conscious about their horns you see."

"Were they all born like that? with the horns crumpled or did something happen later?" And it was a testament to his interaction with weird creatures that he was having this conversation with no sarcasm.

"Dunno, seemed rude to ask...."

"Yeah I guess it would be at that." tim replied. He found himself glad that another mysterious creature was not only real, but sentient enough to be self concious about it's appearance. He definately had to get Pippi and Luna in a room together.
