Squirrel Common Room, Monday Morning

Grogily, and still dressed in yesterday's clothes, Seras made her way into the common room.

She was still trying to shake off that 'How in God's name did I manage to sleep for 12 hours?' feeling.

She hadn't even got to see who her roommates were. Bugger.

Ah well.

Her Arts and Crafts workshop didn't start until this afternoon, so she was at loose ends until then.

Walter wandered in with an electric kettle and a cup in hand. He hadn't brought milk, but he set down a plastic container of sugar cubes on the arm of a chair before plugging in the kettle.

"Good morning."

Seras stared at Walter for a moment, then blinked.

"Walter...I...*you're* rooming here?"

Pippi wandered in with Mr. Neilson.

"Good morning peoples."

Seras waved. Another girl. Thank goodness...

"Morning Pippi! I--um, you know there's a monkey with you, right? I'm not hallucinating that?"

"Oh yes, Sir Neilson is quite real." she said smiling as the monkey doffed his hat to Seras and gave a smart little bow on Pippi's shoulder.

Nadia wandered in shortly there after, yawning. "Morning." She smiled at Seras. "Hey, I didn't know you were in Squirrel."

Seras smiled back.

"Hey, Nadia. Yeah...I moved in yesterday afternoon and then took what was supposed to be a short nap," she said, shaking her head.

"Yes," Walter sleepily watched the kettle, which, as everyone knows, meant it would never boil.

Nadia nodded. "I've been there. You missed marshmallows, last night."

Well, Walter was okay, she supposed.

"Who else is rooming with us?" Seras asked

"Pleasure to meet you, Sir Nelson," said Seras, "So do you have any workshops today?" she asked Pippi.

"Hm?" Walter looked away from the kettle. He'd overdone it the day before and was wrung out. "Pip, Pippi, Nadia, and I are in the B side of the cabin. I think Demyx is on your side. I'm not sure who else."

"Story of my life..." said Seras with a grimace, "Next you'll be telling me that I missed out on ghost stories and singing Kumbayah..."

"G'morning." Walter waved from where his kettle had reached the blissful point of morning tea. "How are you feeling?"

"Morning, Pippi." Walter waved to her and Mr. Neilson. //Good morning.//

Pippi shook her head and smiled.

"Not a one." she answered, "And you?"

"Oh, no, we saved those just for you. Even though we didn't know you were staying in the cabin." Nadia shrugged. "Hey, we're here all week, we have to space these things out."

Nadia grinned. "Better. I think I slept better last night than I have in about two months."

It helped that her ribs no longer twinged every time she moved. Now they only twinged about every fifth time she moved.

So, she was sharing a cabin with boys and the French perv Pip. Lovely.

"You wouldn't happen to have an extra cup handy, would you?" she asked, looking at the kettle with some longing.

"Oh Professor The Tick. I hear he's wonderful." Pippi said, "So that leaves us the whole morning to all be lazy and useless together."

"I think there are some tin cups in that cabinet," Walter said, nodding toward a newly handwaved into existence cupboard. "I'll share."

Walter laughed and pointed to the same newly handwaved into existence cupboard he'd directed Seras to. "I think there are some cups in there. I don't have milk, but I do have sugar."
