Pangolin Common Room - evening

Parker has a hammock set up, one corner tied to the doorframe, the other tied to a tree outside.

She is re-reading The Amethyst Flower and giggling.

And if she's comparing the prose to Anders'? That's probably a coincidence.

"Got it all set up then, I see," Elizabeth said, dropping down into a chair with a book of her own.

"I'm planning on heading there at some point too," Elizabeth nodded. She looked down at her book and grinned slightly sheepishly. Peacemakers: The Paris Peace Conference of 1919 and Its Attempt to End War (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0719562376/ref=br_lf_b_2/202-4158214-2475014)," she admitted.

"What?" She tried to look innocent.

Having finally checked his voicemail and run back up to his dorm room to retrieve the TV and DVD player, Anders slunk into the common room to set the damned things up.

Oh, frak. People.

Anders slowly turned to look at Parker, his face turning redder and redder. "Had to. What do you mean, holding out on you?"

Well, that was a stupid question. It wasn't like he didn't know, and he'd totally just set himself up for more humiliation.

Anders buries his face in his hands. "I hate the radio," he mutters, all muffled-like. "'s not my fault baseball's naturally that dirty, I swear."

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-23 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, Anders," Elizabeth smiled sweetly at him. "Any baseball on tonight?"

Now there was really nothing for it but to curl up in a corner.

"I'm sure there's plenty of it," he said, scowling just a little bit.

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-05-23 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Dirty?" she asked innocently. "Did you sign up for the writing workshop in the end?"

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-05-23 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Anders scowled some more. "No, but Chloe totally called me and said there were spaces left if I wanted to join anyway."

Z poked her head into the common room and saw someone she didn't know, so she decided to come in and introduce herself. At least she could get done introducing herself to people she lived with, even if it seemed she would never finish saying, 'Hi, I'm Z.'

"Okay, let's do this one more time. Hi, person I don't know. I'm Z."

[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com 2006-05-23 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Anders looked up from the little ball he'd curled into on the floor. "Hi, person whose name I now know is Z. I'm Anders."

"You're the guy who--" Z burst into hysterical giggles. When she caught her breath for a moment, she said, "Excuse me," and left the room. She popped back in a moment later to say, "Nice to meet you, Anders!" before fleeing.

Cally just happened to wander in. Like you do.

"Whoa, people."

[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com 2006-05-23 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Lazy I can handle," Cally said. "Anything more intense, and I might not be up for it. What's happening?"

"Hey, Cally," Elizabeth said, frowning slightly at her book. "Parker, you read trash."

[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com 2006-05-23 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Ooooh, trashy novels?" Cally brightened up a bit. "I love trashy novels."

"Have you read The Amethyst Flower?" Elizabeth asked, wincing as she turned the page.
