Meerkat Common Room [early evening]

Rory, grumpy after her morning and afternoon, was curled up in the Meerkat common room with her laptop. She had five episodes of Large Affection, the show about polygamy set in Alaska, to watch.

And as she watched, she idly tossed a ball for Vladdie and periodically dabbed lotion on her arm.

Yes, she had showered.

Yes, she was still occasionally finding sticks in her hair.

Yes, she was sporting a bit of a sunburn.

And yes, her right arm was covered in red splotches.

No, she really didn't want to talk about it.

Alanna came in, carrying a duck-feather covered Faithful in her arms. There were feathers stuck to her hair as well. "I hate ducks. You're red."

"I found some poison ivy and the sun hates me," Rory said, waving. "Ducks are annoying."

Vladdie bounced over and yipped a hello to Faithful.

This is Aeryn still pissed off. She's really quiet. It's not a good quiet. She's in the common room anyway, just in case.

You know, in case something happens. Like deciding to kill people. She's totally okay with that.

Faithful hissed at Vladdie and threw a few feathers at him. "What would happen if you rolled a duck around in poison ivy and then stuck him out in the sun?" Alanna owndered out loud. Faithful starred at her.

"I hate ducks," Rory said. "I used to like them. This is huge."

"You'd have a grumpy duck."

That? Did not deter Vladdie. Rather, he hopped around batting at the feathers, yipping delightedly.

Molly came in, not looking happy. "There were still duck droppings under my bed," she said.

Isabel's in the common room as well, idly turning a folded triangular bandage over in her hand and wondering how it could be used for revenge.

"I never liked ducks," Aeryn says, glaring in the general direction of Stickbug. Yes, through the walls. "Two of them know this."

"At least you don't itch," Rory replied, scowling at her elbow. "There's poison ivy in the woods. Just so we're all aware."

Dawn came in and sneezed. She couldn't figure out a single reason why the monks had thought a mild allergy to feathers was a good idea. "Excuse me."

"So. I'm all for revenge," she said, plopping into a chair. "Who's with me?"

"What's that?" Rory asked curiously.

"They lied about coffee. This is unacceptable."

"Triangular bandage from First Aid today," Isabel explained. "I acquired a few of them. I thought we could use them somehow when we take our revenge. We are taking revenge right?"

"You have to ask?" Rory asked, pausing in the middle of the annoying second wife's sentence.

Molly grimaced in sympathy. "I'll remember that," she said and sat down in one of the chairs. "So, do we have a plan yet?"

"We'd better be," Rory said, glaring at random feathers on the floor.

Aeryn thinks for a moment. "Do you think rules about weapons are still applicable out here?"

"You're all insane." Faithful summarized and went to take a nap. Alanna rolled her eyes. "Quack quack. I have a lotion that will help with the sunburn if you'd like."
