Gym -- Late Thursday Night

Phoebe had waited until very late to head to the Gym because she knew she probably wouldn't be disturbing anyone.

She turned on some music and went through a warm-up session before she started practicing the moves that CJ had taught her. Then she went through the routine she had learned in karate.

There were a lot of things she had on her mind and she needed to work some of it off.

John's been spending too much time in the gym lately. he totally needs to get laid. *John!mun glarea at syd!mun* So he's back, again. He must really have a thing against the punching bag.

Phoebe smiled. "Okay."

"How fight-y we talking about here? Don't wanna beat you up. Or get beat up."

"Just enough to work out whatever we've both got going on in our heads. Some bruises are okay if that happens, seriously hurting each other is not. I won't try to hurt you and you don't hurt me. Sound fair?"

"Fair. You've got issues?" Which is a clever way of denying he has some himself.

"I have a lot on my mind. Even a witch with empathy and precognition can't always find answers."

"NOr can one with an annoying red bow and a penchant for brooms. So. Any particular style or just 'pent up anger fu'?"

"What issues do you have with Kiki?" She shook out her hands. "Pent up anger fu will work."

"Kiki issues? Oh, not much. She managed to get herself possessed on my account, and I still have no clue where my mom is."

John drops into a basic fighty stance.
"Ladies first."

"Yeah, I remember that. To be honest, she did the same thing I would have done. I can try to help you find answers to your mom." Phoebe nodded and stepped up, swinging a right fist at him.

John blocked the fist with a hand and a bit of a sidestep. "So there's more than one witch crazy enough to get herself possessed? Thanks for the offer. I might take you up on it." He tries some easy kicks.

"I won't get possessed. Seeing what happened to my best friend taught me to take more precautions." One kick connects with her leg as she blocks it, but the others don't. "Let me know if you decide to." She tried to sweep his feet out from under him.

John does a low block, and counters with his own legsweep. "Will do."

Phoebe lands on her back but flips up and counters with a two-fisted thrust aimed at his chest.

"So besides that, what has you pent up?"

John directs it up over his head and knees her in the gut. Gently-like.

"Snoring roommates. Girlfriend. Impending sense of dread. You?"

"Ooof." Phoebe moves to the side and kicks out, pulling her kick so that if it does land she doesn't hurt him.

"Boyfriend. Family. Scary destiny."

JOhn doesn't so much block the kick as he walks into it. Cuz yeah. Not paying attention.

"Family. Scary destiny. Crazy ass boss."

John tries a fancy-ish spin move ending with a left backhand, pulling it.

Phoebe's hand comes up to block the backhand and she counters with a back-hand of her own.

"Scary boss?"

John steps into it, taking her inner elbow on his neck and doing some light quick punches to her torso. "Attacked me wiht a fuckin' robot."

Phoebe ends up taking the punches to the abdomen because in her shock she has forgotten to block.

"She attacked you with a robot?"

She steps into John's side and attempts to hook his leg and take them both down to the mat.

John went down hard, on his bad welty shoulderblade. "Ow."

Phoebe rolled off of him in concern.

"John? Are you okay? I'm sorry! I wasn't trying to hurt you!"

John swore something that sounded like anatomical improbabilities about certain carbon and iron organizms. "No, just landed on the goddamn robot shoulder. It's bad that my boss fights dirty, right?" He shakes his head, rubs his shoulderblade, and gets back into position.
