Flamingo Campfire, Thursday Afternoon

Piper was bored, so she wandered back to her dorm room to bake. She made brownies and cookies and brought them back to the campfire. She pondered starting a fire with her explosion power because she thought it would be amusing. In the end she decided not to because it's only afternoon and it's too hot.

Veronica was bored and was waiting for Piper to show up. When she saw the baked goods, she put on a pot of coffee, grabbed her portable radio and joined her.

"There's coffee on," she said. "And Barbossa's radio show should be starting."

"Ooh, coffee," Piper said with a grin. "Barbossa's radio show was so entertaining last week. I expect the same today, especially if there are amusing phone calls."

"I know," Veronica grinned, tuning the radio just in time to hear Barbossa's introduction.

"So what all did you bake good?"

"Brownies, of course," Piper said. "And chocolate chip cookies. I was bored."

"Yay, brownies!" Veronica said. "Coffee should be ready. I'll go get us each a cup."

She returned a minute later with two mugs. "Here you go," she handed one to Piper.

"Thanks," Piper said appreciately. "So, how was your workshop yesterday?"

"It went well," Veronica said. "Everyone took really nice pictures."

She turned the volume on the radio up a little when the first (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/877217.html?thread=34622369#t34622369) caller was on the air.

"Did that voice sound familiar to you?" she asked Piper, tilting her head thoughtfully.

"That's good to hear," Piper said.

She listened intently to the radio. "Yeah, it does sort of sound familiar."

"That's a pretty gutsy move," Veronica said. "The girls around here aren't to be trifled with."

Lured by the smell of baked goods, Bel wandered over to the Flamingo campire. "Hey," he said, snatching a brownie.

"Still can't resist my brownies, huh?" Piper said with a grin.

"They're addicting," Bel said around a mouthful of chocolately goodness.

"Of course they are. I made them," Piper added. "Or it could be because of the secret ingredient..."

Bel paused mid-chew. "What secret ingredient?"

"Like I'm going to tell you," Piper said with a smirk.

Bel put on his best charming smile. "Please?"

Piper grinned somewhat mischievously. "Some of the students in my workshop were wondering if demon is an ingredient."

Bel blinked. Then shrugged and resumed chewing. "Creeper Demons are too bitter," he advised. "Kaazi demons can be nice if you make sure they're tender, first."

"Look, I'm being good today," Veronica said immediately.

"Good," Bel said. "Keep it up."

"Piper and I are just sitting here, enjoying baked goods, coffee and the Pirate," Veronica told him.

Bel may have choked on a piece of brownie.

Veronica automatically reached over and tapped his back lightly a few times.

"You okay?" she asked. "Need some water or coffee?"

"I'm fine," he sputtered. "Just swallowed the wrong way. So, what were you saying?"

"That we're just sitting here listening to the pirate," Veronica repeated.

She laughed as the pirate advised (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/877217.html?thread=34630817#t34630817) someone that kidnapping was an acceptable form of courtship.

"That guy sounds about as hopeless as you," she said to Bel, recalling their conversation the previous night about manners and how to treat a lady.
