Fifth Floor Common Room, Sunday Evening

After shimmering his and Phoebe's belongings -- and the kittens as well -- back to the dorms, Bel wandered down to the fifth floor common room. He sprawled on the couch and turned on the TV, flipping through the channels until he landed on "The Raven 4: Evil Benediction." The movie was making him nostalgic for Angelus for some reason. While it was good to be "home" and have privacy again, the attic was decidedly unsocial and he couldn't wait until he and Phoebe could move to one of the lower floors.

Marie spotted Bel lounging in the common room as she hauled her own belongings back to her room. Once she'd dumped everything on her side, she decided to go bug him, since it had been a few days since she had.

"Hi!" she greeted him cheerfully.

"I see Veronica let you live," Bel observed.

"I don't get what the big deal was," Marie said, rolling her eyes. "Is she always wound that tight?"

Bel snickered. "She doesn't seem to like it when people hijack her radio broadcast. Not that I would know anything about such a thing."

Marie snickered. "That's right, I remember hearing you on the radio a few weeks ago."

"Faithful needed someone to open the door," Bel said. "No opposable thumbs and all."

"You did radio with a cat." Marie shook her head. "Anything's possible around here, isn't it?"

"Just about," Bel agreed. "But it's been awfully quiet around here lately."

"Quiet is good, right?" Marie asked.

"Boring," Bel said.

"Well what would you prefer be happening?"

Bel shrugged. "I don't know. Something?"

"Prank wars like out at the cabins?"

Making a face, Bel said, "Nah, that's like for kids. I mean something exciting."

Marie gave him a look. "And what do you consider exciting?"

"Fighting," Bel said. "Going up against someone."

"You'd rather be fighting than have relaxation?" Marie asked.

"Yeah," Bel said, nodding. "It's more fun." More demony. But he didn't say that part out loud.

Marie shrugged. "I don't know anything about fighting, so I guess I can't say."

"Maybe I'll teach you some day," Bel said. "If you'd like."

"It's not anything I ever thought I needed to know," Marie said.

"That was before you came here," Bel said. "You'll learn."

Marie bit her lip. "If you think it's a good idea, I guess I can give it a shot."

Nadia had closed down Empire early so she could move back into the dorms in the evening. After dropping an unhappy Furrball (who had loved the cabin) and her backpack off in her room, she wandered into the common room.

"Hey Bel, Marie, what are you watching?"

Marie shrugged. "I dunno, not really paying attention," she replied. "But the bad guy is kinda cute. How are you?"
