Gym, morning before workshops

Cameron was in the gym early, warming up already. He seemed pretty focussed on the weight lifting he was doing as his mind went through last night's conversation with Aeryn and the weird email Rory had sent out the evening before.

Peter nodded to Cameron as he entered the gym. He stretched out then started concentrating on his sword drills.

"Yo, man." Cameron greeted as he paused his workout for a moment. "How's it going?"

Veronica arrived to meet Cameron for another self defense lesson. Her mind was a bit pre-occupied by the conversation she'd had with Bel the day before.

"Hey," she greeted Cameron.

"Morning, Cam," Peter said after he'd finished a slightly complicated footwork sequence. "Other than having 'we wish you a merry Christmas' in my head all day yesterday, it's well. How about you?"

"Morning, grasshopper," Cameron said without looking up. He lifted the weight a couple more times before blocking it and getting to his feet.

"Wrong season, man," Cameron said, giving him a funny look. "I think I'm through the worst of my week."

"Grasshopper, huh?" Veronica said, watching him. "Are you trying to say I bug you?"

"No," he said with an easy smile. "I'm saying that you're... hoppy."

"Logan was the one who kept turning into a bunny, not me," Veronica reminded him with a grin.

"It was the fig pudding falling from the sky," Peter explained. "And I certainly hope you are."

"No, I said hoppy not fuzzy. You're being difficult this morning," he said, teasing.

Veronica smirked. "It's all part of my charm," she said.

"So what are you teaching me today, o wise one?"

"The pudding is just plain weird," Cameron said with a frown. "I really hope Callisto is going to take her workshop inside today."

Cameron decided arguing about that would be a really bad idea, so he settled for just answering her question. "Well, you can hit things now so I think you should get to learn how to not get hit. You good with that?"

"I'm hoping the same about Professor Harrington, but I'm rather doubting it for some reason. Maybe we'll get lucky and have a break in the weather. Or maybe we'll start getting showered with pits or something. That would be fun."

"Makes sense to me," Veronica nodded.

"Cool," he bounced once on his heels before moving towards the mats and turned to face her. "The principle is pretty simple, it's just not always easy to actually do it. You got two options; dodge or block. You try and hit me and I'll show you the general idea," he said as he got into position.

"You know, I think I prefer pudding over pits. The general idea of something hard falling from the sky at a high speed towards my head just doesn't sit well with me," Cameron said.

"Strange that. I can hardly imagine why that would be the case," Peter replied with a grin.

Veronica aimed a punch at his left shoulder.

"No, me neither," Cameron shook his head in amusement. Then remembering, he dropped his voice a little. "Did you get to talk to Tyler?"

Cameron easily dodged the punch, while explaining what he was doing and what he'd be expecting her to do today. With a nod, he indicated for her to give it another go.

Veronica nodded at his explanation and then aimed a punch at his stomach.

Peter nodded and dropped his voice correspondingly. "Tuesday night." He shrugged. "I don't know if I got through to him really, but he said he'd lay off the explosions while on the island."

Parrying the punch with his elbow, it still made an impact and Cameron grimaced as the bruise there still hurt. "Okay, I think you get the idea."
