Luke, after an afternoon of searching, had finally found the ride that went with the terrifyingly pony-sized helmet he'd woken up with.

Sadly, it wasn't a airplane. Or a shuttle.

It was...a scooter.

And the ground wasn't exactly level enough for a pony driving a scooter to be a comfortable match. So Luke's pretty, pretty  tail was now full of dirt and sticks as he righted himself for the tenth time and shot Artoo a pony glare.

"Would you stop recording?" he whined.

Artoo had no intention of stopping, no.

[OOC: Come on over and ride the scooter! My ponies were totally tricked out back in the day.]

After a long sparring session with Jaina in the salle and and even longer shower (he was going to miss the unlimited water around here), Luke assembled some food made for sticks--marshmallows, hot dogs, weird Rebel rations that Yoda had always made fun of--and stretched out in front of the campfire.

The fire reminded him a bit of being back on Endor. Without the "being served over it" aspect, of course.

[OOC: So open.]

For some reason, the only cookies that the people at J, GOB would sell Peter were heart-shaped ones covered in pink frosting and pink and white sprinkles.  So those were the cookies he set out on the table along with pots of hot coffee and tea.  He tried the cookies though just to make sure they weren't poisoned and - as far as he could tell at least - they seemed perfectly tasty.  Just very very pink.

He had the dance tickets, order forms for the flowers, and six roses of varying colours that he'd picked up, hoping that the they'd help with the selling all laid out carefully and even somewhat approaching attractively.

Finally satisfied, Peter sat down behind the table with his book of tactics to hand and ready to sell.

[OOC: Dance tickets and flowers can be bought handwavily for certain!  Flowers are only on sale through MIDNIGHT PST today and will be delivered tomorrow!  I'm going to be in and out for a bit.]

In the morning, posters for Friday's masquerade began appearing in the dorms' hallways and common rooms.  Even some in the school. They appeared as though put up by a poster fairy.

Today Meg was the student council representative behind the voting table. She had handwavily bought coffee and doughnuts and had them sitting beside the old yearbooks and pictures from past Fandom events.

There were clipboards with sign up sheets for the carnival and a voting box for Homecoming court.

Meg had a cup of coffee in her hand and was flipping though an old yearbook, making sure to skip past any pages that had mention of a certain blonde detective.

[OCD coming up! Each student can nominate two boys and two girls from their class for the Homecoming Court. The voting on the finalists will go up Thursday night and the Court will be announced at the dance.]

Peter hauled out the table and clipboards from where they'd been stored since Prom tickets were on sale and set up a careful display that was supposed to evoke memories of Fandom past.  Really it was just a few yearbooks and lots of pictures around a tray of doughnuts and pots of coffee and tea.  Oh yes, and glitter.  Because it wasn't a Fandom event without glitter.

He then set out clipboards with sign up sheets for booths at the carnival and the voting box for Homecoming Court.

Finally he sat down behind the table with a cup of tea and waited to sell tickets to the student body.  Yes.  As a whole.

[OOC:  Oh yes, there will be OCD coming.  Each student can nominate two boys and two girls from their class for the Homecoming Court.  The voting on the finalists will go up Thursday night and the Court will be announced at the dance.  If you're curious what's involved with the booths check out the Homecoming Carnival from last year - or I'll link the threads in the OCD cause that's a big post.  OCD is up!]

As was becoming almost habit, Hermione headed down to the gym early to help set up for the bi-annual club fair. Tables were set up for each club, with chairs for the club heads to sit behind, so they could explain their clubs and get people to use the clipboards on the table to sign up.

There was a refreshments table, and Hermione was around if anyone had any questions.

The only problem with being lazy and sleeping most of the day because you don't have classes is that you wake up and want to do something different. Too bad it was after midnight now and most everybody was asleep.

Ah well, there was always TV.

Peter got to the salle a bit earlier than he'd asked Jeff to meet him there so he could stretch and get in another short practice with Rhindon before starting to teach.

As he started to move through the basic forms, he rather wondered if after radio crackdowns and separating roommates, the new principal would decide to ban weapons practice.  That wouldn't be so good.

Aravis really should have known better than to sit out in plain sight in her pink clothes. But when one has a large puppy, one's not-so-large dorm room can seem awfully small.

She'd managed to find a ball somewhere, and was now amusing herself with tossing it across the common room and waiting for Seely to obediently bring it back.

It took longer than one might think, because he kept getting distracted by things like invisible dust monsters and his own tail.

Aravis, for her part, just kept talking to him as though he might answer. She had suspicions that he might actually be a talking Dog after that perplexing phone call yesterday.

Okay, it was just Jude, but he felt so un-Jude when he was all goth-y that he started thinking of himself as Judas. Long story. Involving vomitting in a girl's mouth. And a vibrating chair.

He was actually on his way to change and wash his face off, but was getting there in his slow, mellow, Jude-like way. Which meant chilling by the campfire and fixing his skateboard.

Karal had checked in, taken one look at all the people, and quickly led Trenor away from the mob. Thanks to the map he'd been given the stables were easy to find, and empty, as it turned out, for which he was deeply thankful.

Altra was exhausted from the jump and was curled on a hay bale, tail twitching idly, while Karal untacked Trenor. Robes were not the right clothes to be wearing, but they were what he had on and he wasn't ready to find his room and change into something else.

Breathing in the familiar scents of horse and hay while he pitched straw into the stall, he relaxed slightly. Stables, at least, were the same everywhere. It wouldn't take him long to get his horse settled in, but he'd be happy if it took all day.

::You have to leave here sometime::

"I know I do." He'd thought Altra was asleep. "But not yet."

The only response was a yawn from the 'cat and an impatient whicker from Trenor, who'd apparently had enough of Karal's procrastination.

Sokka stared at the rubble. The school was gone, sure, but the dorms had still been standing. And the salle was attached to the dorms, so he hadn't thought...

With a strangled cry, he ran over to where the weapons locker had been and started tearing at the pile of rubble, without finding anything.

"NOOOOOO!" he cried. "BOOOOOOOOMERAAAAANG!!!!"

He dug frantically, and... then realized he was in the wrong place. He scrambled around looking again, and there was the weapons locker, a little battered but otherwise unharmed, sitting behind a large piece of roof.

He pulled it open, grabbed his boomerang, and clutched it to his chest, petting and kissing it.

"THERE you are! Don't SCARE me like that!!!"

Peter was down in the lobby bright and early to set up the tables for Prom ticket buying and Prom Court nominations

He eyed the glitter worriedly but sprinkled it around the table and over the Venetian masks.

Then he sat behind the table with a list of juniors and seniors (because heck if he knew what classes people were in) and realised he hadn't asked Willow to Prom yet.  That needed to be remedied.

Zero lounged on the sofa in black pants and a Flogging Molly shirt, though even without the green in the shirt she would have been safe from evil pinchers thanks to the hue of her hair. The Pogues were blasting from the stereo, and in the kitchen was a feast of corned beef and cabbage, soda bread, and triple chocolate brownies. So that last wasn't Irish. Neither was Zero.

There was also, in lieu of beer, white grape juice with green food coloring in it.

Come! Enjoy!

Posters had whee handwavily gone up in the dorms and town announcing two Student Council sponsored events during Spring Break.  The first being Free Coffee Day on Wednesday, and the second, an Ice Carnival all day Thursday.

When people came down to the lobby on Wednesday, it looked like a set from the coffee shop in Buddies had moved in.  In reality, the Perk had set up a second branch in the lobby and the beringed barista was there to provide coffee, coffee drinks (and tea and hot chocolate for the philistines who didn't appreciate coffee) as well as soup, sandwiches, pastries, anything a hungry Spring Break student could need.

The couches have all been moved into "conversation groupings" with funny lamps on wee tables providing light.  There's a mix of reading material from terribly pretentious to comic books and just about any board or card game you could mod imagine.

[OOC: Open for getting coffee, chatting, modding board games.  The free coffee's in the lobby so anyone is free to join in]
[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com
Posters bedecked with heart-shaped clouds had gone up around the dorms over the weekend announcing the Valentine's Dance on the 16th  - Friday evening.

So Monday morning, Peter set up a table in the lobby with tickets for the dance, 99 red balloons, and a sales sheet for roses to be delivered on Valentine's Day to other students and teachers.

There were also heart shaped cookies, pink frosted cupcakes, and lots and lots of Valentine's candy.  Because this was for Student Council and food was a necessity.

Now all he needed was people to give the balloons to and talk into coming to the dance.

[OOC: Handwavy getting tickets and just signing up OOC for roses is totally okay, but Peter has many, many balloons and lots of food to give away so come and chat!

And the comments to the flower post are screened so no surprises are spoiled.  :D]

For the most part Neil had been able to avoid the strangeness from this past weekend and he was fairly grateful for this fact. However, after both his notebook and his desk lamp both turned into pies (coconut creme and blueberry respectively) he decided that it was time to get out of the dorm for a little bit.

Changing in to shorts a thermal shirt and sweatshirt, Neil went down to the gym and hunted up a soccer ball then he headed out onto an open grassy spot outside. Sure it was cold out but the sun was shinning and what was cold for this area was positively tropical for someone used to Vermont winters.

"No changing into a pie." He muttered at the ball as he dropped it onto his knee for a couple of bounces before letting it fall down between his sneakers. A little exercise might be just the thing...and in the meantime, if his schoolwork would stop turning into a pie, Neil would be okay with that also!

Polexia slept in late after her night out at Caritas.

But when she woke up, she was bored and ended up wandering down to the common room. She figured out how to work the television and was very excited to find something called MTV that was showing music videos.

She dug through the cabinets and fridge and found some suitable snacks and settled in to watch this fascinating thing.

After handwavy shopping for supplies and food, Peter and Isabel decorated the Common Room and hung a banner across the back saying  "Congratulations on Surviving Our First Week of Classes!"

A big cake of whatever flavour you want to mod saying much the same thing, soda, chips, and lots of other food were laid out on the table along with poppers, kazoos, noisemakers, and other party favours and games.

It felt like it had been a while since Setsuna got to spend some good, focused one-on-one time with Yuunagi. After a short series of stretches and warm-up, she retrieved the nodachi from the weapons locker and set to her basic forms, building up into her minor Shinmei Ryuu attacks. Nothing special, just a girl and her sword...doing flips and slightly flying (without wings) and leaving small wind scratches on the wall. Typical stuff.

Zuko apparently was the first to get to the salle. He took off his shoes and shirt, just like it was required for an Agni Kai. Not that this fight would be like a real Fire Duel. For one, his roommate couldn't use fire. As he waited for Fray to show up, Zuko started practising some firebending moves as way to warm up.

Rory got to the common room nice and early right after Lit, and started blowing up balloons and hanging streamers.

Following his and Isabel's plans made yesterday, Peter had stopped by J,GOB after Interstellar Relations to pick up a metric ton of coffee, doughnuts, bagels, and assorted other pastries.

Getting them back to the Common Room was easy, but trying to corral all the books in the Common Room into a cabinet so they wouldn't knock over the coffee was much more difficult.

However he managed to do so and thus there was a table set up with coffee, tea, doughnuts, and pastries.  A sign said "Happy Studying and Good Luck on your Finals from Student Council."  There was an addendum added in pen "Watch out for books!"

Peter was drinking tea and studying his Hunting notes nearby.
[identity profile] cantgetnorelief.livejournal.com
Anders didn't see much point in going back to his room to study, since he'd been in there all weekend as it was. (Damn Sims 2.) Besides, it was snowing, and his Pyramid playbooks had seen fit to start battering him about the head, which was not exactly his idea of toughening up against hard hits on the court.

So here he was, sitting cross-legged on his Glider out in the snow, studying like a crazy thing for his Interstellar Relations final, his Pyramid ball beside him.

Every now and then a textbook would hover up and try to divebomb him, so he'd throw the ball at it.

At least it was a good opportunity to get in some work on his shooting technique while he studied.

The fifth floor common room has been decked out for Yule. (That includes jødisk jul.)

Pippi has used the provisions that StuCo has the common room stocked with to make something called "meatloaf". Pippi, being Pippi, has made a mind boggling amount of meatloaf.

She also has a punchbowl out which contains totally non-alcoholic Glögg. (Or "Gløgg" if you're Hamlet.) And she absolutely does not have a several small bottles of akvavit secreted in and among the decorations so people can make their cups more... gloggy.

There's also a spread of nuts, raisins, and gingerbread. Pippi herself is at the stove making æbleskiver.

It had taken all night, but they'd finally cobbled together a device they hoped would work, and with Bridge's help Conner had tracked Mesogog down to his current hideout in the sewers. (Which was at least an easier place to get to than, say, a moonbase or an alternate dimension.) So now it was cleanup time.

Conner had left a few messages for people: Heard what you can do, and I could use your skills. Meet me in the lobby if you can come along? He had the transporter device with him, and his weapons -- well, they were in their dimensional storage pocket-thing, anyway, so pretty much ready. All that he needed now was the rest of the team. Maybe not the team he used to have, but in the end, he'd decided, there really wasn't that much difference.

Sometime either in the middle of the night or very early in the morning, a large, beautiful, undecorated Christmas tree ended up in the first floor lobby of the dorms. No idea how it got there, but it's not the weirdest thing to happen in Fandom. Neither is the fact that there are also boxes and boxes of completely moddable decorations lying out. Ornaments, garland, tinsel, it's all there. Also not weird is the fact that someone set up a little table with apple cider, hot chocolate and gingerbread cookies. And a little CD player with Christmas music CD's beside it.

The fact that someone stuck a big red bow on the alien fish tank? Okay, that's a little odd.

Really, the tree is lonely without decoration and people should really fix that.

[Welcome to the dorms' tree-trimming party! Post is open all day so no one misses out ICly or hopefully OOCly. The Doctor had been well informed of the trolls from Jane, and last night's radio had spurred him into some resemblance of organization. First stop, the dorms.

He didn't have access to the PA System or anything, so he had a megaphone in the lobby.

"Attention please, attention please! We have captives in the very large mansion in town, and we should not be snug in our beds while this occurs! Who is willing to organize, willing to face the belly of the beast and be unafraid to scritch it in order to achieve our goals? I mean, come on! Trolls, castle . . . it was like a match made in heaven!

So, once they'd made lots of good headway pillaging and rampaging through the town, the trolls started on their way up the hill, aimed for the gates to the school, grinning and slathering and singing creepy, troll-y songs of glee.

Gwynn was really confused.

This was nothing new.

However, this time, she was really really confused.

It was this whole flurry about some holiday that was tomorrow and she didn't understand it. She had never heard of this Turkey Day thing that everyone was talking about.

People seemed to be making plans to go home for this thing ... and she had no idea what was going on.

So, this would be why she was perched on the back of the couch in the common room, trying to work that Bard In A Box thing that Ms. Lorelai had called a TV.

Perhaps someone in the box could explain this to her.

Jaye's glad to be the first one in a common room, just because it means she doesn't have to download all her TV for once. (Perfectly legally, of course.) She takes a seat right in front of the TV, grabs the remote, and completely fails to know what's on on Wednesdays anymore. She's all confused since the networks started switching things around the schedule and forgetting to appropriately advertise them. Pretty soon things'll start getting canceled. Freaking networks.

And it's best not to ask why there's a little lion sitting out on the table. Because then Jaye'll have to admit she's an idiot and there'll be flailing and no one wants that.

Setsuna hadn't slept well that night, so, when it became late enough in the day for her to be able to head to the salle, she was grateful. Even just putting Yuunagi in her hands as she removed her from the weapons locker caused a wave of relief to wash over her. Last night's handwavey and permissibly modded call with Jude didn't go over well...not that the conversation itself wasn't good, because it was. It's just, strangely, she felt herself feeling just irritated with him toward the end of it. No, he hadn't done or said anything wrong. But she still felt as if he had.

Plus, it was Monday, and she'd stupidly agreed to something akin to a date with Ranma tonight. What the hell was she thinking? Ugh, that was the problem. She wasn't.

She was definately in the need to lose herself in her forms and attacks...
