3rd Floor Common Room [Friday Night]

Still leery of the energy emanating from the 2nd Floor Common Room, Bridge decides to move up a floor. He's sprawled on a couch, reading a book he'd bought from the Book Fair, with several other books spread out on the couch around him.

"Good book?" Bridge asks Xander after a while, looking up from his own book to peer at him.

"Getting Nesmith to write the intro? Baaaaaad idea," Xander says absently, flipping the page. "He can't remember his own character's backstory, let alone Dr. Lazarus'."

"I hate that," Bridge agrees, making a face. "I mean, you'd think playing a character would at least give you, like, a bit of a clue about what's supposed to be going on, but no..."

"I'm not even sure the writers had a clue what was supposed to be going on during the last season," Xander says, shaking his head.

Bridge snickers, and then glances down at his own book and makes a confused face. "...Detroit?"

Xander cocks his head. "Detroit?"

"It says that's where all the," he breaks off to giggle a little, "snot comes from."

"See, I would've said Cleveland. Or possibly this little orange demon named Morty who hangs out at Willy's Alibi Bar." Xander frowns. "What're you reading?"

"Your Disgusting Head : The Darkest, Most Offensive and Moist Secrets of Your Ears, Mouth and Nose," Bridge says, tilting the cover so that Xander can see.

"Wow, that's...really gross," Xander says, sounding impressed as he stared at the cover. "And I speak as someone who's had demons explode on him."

"Well, it's from the same people who wrote Giraffes? Giraffes!, so I thought I should check it out," Bridge says with a shrug.

Xander blinks at him, clearly clueless. "Do I know about the giraffes thing?"

"...You do know about Earl, right?" Bridge asks, scratching his head.

"I...think? Professor Ted's, right?"

"Well, yeah. Sort of." Bridge says. "Anyway, the book had some information on miniature giraffes, so Kawalsky, Hamlet, Cal and I used it to find Earl. Who we... then brought to Professor Ted's house, because you can't keep a giraffe in the dorms, obviously. Even a miniature one."

"Obviously," Xander repeats, as if this was the most sensemaking thing anybody'd said today. "House, though, totally different story. Much more neck-room."

"He has a little giraffe-house, out back," Bridge informs Xander.

"...how little? 'Cause...giraffe."

"Well, he's a little over six feet. Which is tall, actually, for a miniature giraffe."

"...I think I need to read this book."
