Third Floor Common Room, Sunday brunch-ish

Omelette time. After a week with Cafe Fina closed, Walter was willing to wait on other people again. At least after a fashion. In this case it meant that he had the appropriate setup for omelettes of almost any variety, a happy hellpuppy underfoot, and a good mood.

He flopped down on the couch, turned on the TV, and found something on the History Channel that wasn't about WWII or war at all for a change. Hurrah for Leonardo da Vinci for distracting the History Channel execs from war for a little while.

[ooc: Open for all, of course.]

"Sadly I missed it due to detention... Did you record it?" Pippi asked hopefully. "I don't suppose it's to much to hope that you also recorded the Sweden vs Trinidad-Tobago game?"

"I don't have a TV or anything, so I didn't," Conner said apologetically. "Just got the scores and articles off the Internet this morning. And since I was in detention too, I really wish I could've recorded it. Maybe I could see if my friend -- no, wait, he's two years in the past. That wouldn't work."

Pippi chuckled.

"Ya. That's not helpful... Now if he was two years in the future... Or more. Then maybe."

"Bridge is from the future. I wonder if he can hook me up with copies?" mused Conner. "All I know is there's never been a 1-0 own-goal game in the history of the World Cup. And that's weird."

"Well there's always a first time for everything."

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-06-11 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"This is true," agreed Conner. "So, you into soccer, I take it?"

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-06-11 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes!" Conner leaped up into the air and did the FISTPUMP OF VICTORY. "Seriously, you'd be surprised how many people around here aren't. So far there's you and Nadia that I know of."

"I know Seras is also a fan." Pippi nodded. "Walter and Pip may also be interested. What team do you root for generally?"

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-06-12 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Are they? Awesome," Conner enthused. So it was a lame joke. "I kind of have a thing for Brazil, when it comes to the World Cup. But really, I'll watch just about any soccer game."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-12 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Excellent." Pippi said, "We really need to start organizing football get-togethers to watch games."

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-06-12 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes! We absolutely have to do that!" Conner bounced up and down a few more times and nearly spilled his omelet onto the floor. "Now that I actually have time to watch games with people, I don't want to miss out."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-06-12 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Great!" Pippi beemed. "What game is coming up that we shouldn't miss?"

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-06-12 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
"I left my laptop in my room," Conner said, "otherwise I'd check right now."

"Well, we got time I suppose. I don't think any of our teams is in Group C."
