Third Floor Common Room, Sunday brunch-ish

Omelette time. After a week with Cafe Fina closed, Walter was willing to wait on other people again. At least after a fashion. In this case it meant that he had the appropriate setup for omelettes of almost any variety, a happy hellpuppy underfoot, and a good mood.

He flopped down on the couch, turned on the TV, and found something on the History Channel that wasn't about WWII or war at all for a change. Hurrah for Leonardo da Vinci for distracting the History Channel execs from war for a little while.

Walter grinned and handed her a plate with a Pippi omelette. "The same can be said of me, remember."

"How could I forget?" she grinned accepting the omelet.

"I couldn't say," Walter said, going back to flop on the couch and return to his own omelette. "But the telly's talking about da Vinci, if you're interested."

"Oh boy!" Pippi said turning her attention to the tv. "What about him?"

"They're talking about his inventions and the things that he envisioned centuries before anyone actually fulfilled his ideas. What's a contact lense?"

"It's like a monocle." she said as she chewed on one side of her mouth. "Except that it floats right on your eye..." she pointed at his eye. "Hence the name 'contact lens'."

Walter scrunched up his face trying to imagine letting something just float on his eye.

"That sounds unpleasant."

Pippi shrugged.

"Some people can't seem to live without them." she said.

"I might learn to appreciate them if I didn't have perfect vision, I suppose." He watched the information that Leonardo had also come up with a diving bell and pile driver and shook his head, impressed.
