5th Floor Common Room, Late Monday Morning

After talking to Piper yesterday afternoon, and then the conversation with Lana last night, Phoebe had been more than ready to talk to Cole and see if things went better with him. Then, she had felt him leave the bed and then the attic earlier than usual.

That wasn't good.

With a sigh, she rolled over and stared up at the ceiling for a long time. Something was wrong and they couldn't keep doing this. She got dressed and headed downstairs to the fifth floor common room.

She stretched out on the couch and started flipping through channels.

Surely something had to be on the TV that would distract her.

"Snuggling on the couch is a sure sign that things are progressing well."

"Yeah. So, good mood." He slumped. "Even if Ranma-bro gets all pissed whenever he sees us, and then Setsuna gets all upset and I never know what's goin' on, 'cause they yell at each other in Japanese and the only word I can understand is my name."

Jude blinked.

"I wasn't gonna tell anyone that."

Phoebe stared. "Why would they be fighting about you?" She shook her head. "I'm surprised he knows how to yell at anyone but cats."

"I dunno, but Setsuna punched him once when he got in my face, but I still didn't know what was going on." Yes, Jude really had very little idea what was going on. He had Setsuna-blinders on that stopped right at her smile.

"I'm glad she punched him for hassling the two of you."

Jude shrugged. "It woulda been better if no one had to be punched in the first place."

"Well, there is that." She shrugged. "Some men have a knack for making a girl lose her temper, though."

"Hope I'm not one of them," he chuckled.

"I've never wanted to hit you. Hug you, yes. Hit, no."

Phoebe's eyes widened.

"That's good -" Jude blinked. "Wait - what?"

Phoebe facepalmed and shook her head. She mumbled something.

"I didn't catch that, bra." Jude shrugged. "You wanna hug me? Okay."

His girl-space-friends hugged him all the time. No big deal.

Phoebe smiled. "I've been saying things out loud today and last night that I hadn't planned on."

Jude chuckled. "Gettin' to be a problem?"

"It could be if it happens around the wrong people."

Jude placed a hand over his heart. "I happen to be one of the right people." He paused. "At least I think I am. Good thing I don't have any secrets to blab. You gonna cope?"

Phoebe grinned. "Yes you do." She sighed. "maybe if I hide?"

"I'll help," Jude grinned. "I suggest some place warm and comfy. With a constant food supply. Under a friend's bed usually works fairly well."

"I may take you up on that help if I don't find a hiding place."

"Any time, bra. My roommate seems to have disappeared, so I don't think he'll be minding."
