Fourth Floor Common Room, Monday Evening/Night

Inspired by Arts and Crafts earlier, Luna has taken up residence in the fourth floor common room.

On the table in front of her is a stack of construction paper, rolls of crete paper, markers, glue, ribbons, scissors, and most importantly, glitter because she'd promised to pick some up.

Everything needed for making kites, signs, other room decorations or art fair entries were available.

She hadn't turned on the tv because she had no need of it, or any idea of what it did.

She was deeply focused on the shape she was cutting out of the green paper in her hand.

"Hullo."

"Hullo, Briar!" Luna smiled. "I have glitter!"

Briar looked over at Luna's various art supplies. "Cool. Which one of them is glitter?"

She picked up one of the small, clear containers filled with tiny, shiny plastic pieces and poured some blue glitter into her hand. "These are." Then she blew on them making them fly up for a moment then land on her lap.

Briar smiled at Luna's antics. "They're very uh, sparkly."

"And fun when used in projects." She may have actually had some glitter stuck to her. "How are you this evening?"

Briar sat down on the floor. "Good. What are you making?"

"This," Luna explained as she picked her paper back up, "is going to be a kite. We have an arts fair coming up, did you know?"

"No, I didn't. How's it going to be a kite?"

"By attaching a string here" She said as she glued some sting on. "Then adding a tail and some wind later."

"And as long as it doesn't rain pudding again, you'll let it fly?"

"Yes, though I think it could fly even then." Luna laughed. "I didn't mind the pudding so much, did you?"

"It was weird, but it was food. Do those sorts of things happend a lot areound here?"

"I don't know. Maybe there's a book in the library that could tell us." Luna paused for a moment. "I wouldn't recommend reading them out loud though as that seems to cause mummies."

Briar starred at Luna. For a long time. "Hunh?"

"I'm from England so I don't know know what happens here often. A girl I know from Home often consults library books when in need of information." Luna wasn't bothered by the staring, that much. "However, I helped to fight mummies this past weekend largely in part because another student read something she shouldn't have out loud."

She paused for a moment, then smiled. "We can thank her for the pudding, too."

Briar sifted through all of that and came up with "So it won't be raining pudding again?" He may have been a bit disappointed.

"I've heard anything is possible here, but I think the continual, self-renewing pudding source has left us." Luna tried to let his hopes of pudding down gently. "Are you so fond of pudding then?"

"I spent six years out on the streets fighting for every scrap so I really like food and that's way more than I meant to say." Briar blinked rapidly.

"I have never had such a struggle. Is there any food which you prefer to others?" Luna asked. "I have heard that today was one of disclosure. Thus far I've kept my mouth closed and not said to anyone that I watched my mother die or prefer this school to my last because the people are kinder." Except for the part where she just did.

"My mum died when I was four, never knew my dad." The words came out of Briar's mouth without any thought from him. "I'm sorry about your mother and previous classmates. And uh, I just like food. Any food."

"I'm sorry for your losses, Briar and I am glad you're here." She paused. That was safe enough, maybe she could continue. "Thank you."

Then she grinned. "Shall we endeavor to find some more for you then?"

Briar grinned. "Contrary to popular belief, I am not permanently hungry. No matter what Tris may claim."

"Not even for pudding?" Luna teased. "Who's Tris?"

"I always have room for pudding." Briar said solemnly. "And Tris is one of my foster-sisters. Trisandra Chandler, unwanted daughter of a major merchant house. She's a weather witch and would probably kill me for oversharring the way I just did."

"I know someone like that back home but I think sometimes he'd rather not know me." Luna giggled a bit because of the pudding. "Well, I guess it's a good thing that she isn't here and that I am what with me not being her and also being a witch."

"Unwanted by family or a weather witch?" Briar tried to untangle that sentance. "And is it a he or she because I think your genders moved."

"No, neither. A he who could always have room for pudding, and nearly anything else besides." Luna smiled. "And the last was she, meaning Tris, and good because I was here and not likely to kill you for overshare as you had said she might."

It took Briar a moment to detangle that sentance. "Got it! Cool!"

"Hey," Xander wanders in and takes in the assorted craft-y type things. "What's all this then?"

"Hullo, Xander." Luna waved her paper at him. "I'm making a kite. At least for the moment. Next I might make a boat."

"Neat," Xander says with a nod. "So, can anyone make something or is this all just for you?" he asks.

"I share very well with others. Have a seat." She grinned.

"Excellent!" Xander says, grinning and sitting down cross-legged on the floor in front of the table.

"Would you like some glitter before I put it back?" Luna asked. It was entirely possible that she had stray bits of blue glitter here and there on her face and hands.

"Have any green?" Xander asks. Ever since becoming a Ranger, he's developed an odd fondness for the colour.

"One cannot have the full rainbow without it." Luna picked up a different container and passed it to him.

"Roomie who is no longer a tree but still needs to tell me how that happened."

"Roomie who un-treed me!" Xander says with a grin. "I can't really explain why it happened this time. Last time, it was because I used a potion I shouldn't have, and it reacted to my magic."

"That's...unusual. How long ago was the first time?"

"A few months ago," Xander says. "Back when I was still in Briarwood."

Briar smirked at the name of the town because some jokes just never die. "Maybe some traces of the potion still remained in your system?"

"That could be," he muses. "I'm still pretty new to this magic stuff. I don't understand how a lot of it works- it just does."

Briar nodded. "That's a fairly good description for most of it. And when you finally go and figure some rules out, it all falls apart on you."
