Gym, Afternoon, Cheerleading practice

The big game is on Saturday.

Buffy is awake.

You bet your ass there'll be a practice!

Buffy is looking a little battered, but definitely cheerful. The CD-player is blasting Kung-Fu Fighting at max volume, and the mats have been pulled out. "Okay! Today we'll be practicing in trios! So I hope you're all here! It's very important that we get *nsync in sync before the game, so work hard, guys!"

Molly winced internally. "You were dating Shep, right? Did he go home?"

"Yeah, in a way. He had to go... back. All sorts of classified everything." Lana made a face. "But he finally got some sort of clearance thing worked out so at least we can be in touch. I hadn't heard from him since he left. Not that we're still dating. That would sort of be the ultimate in long-distance hopeless relationships."

Molly wasn't quite sure how to respond. The words 'classified' and 'clearance' made her not want to pry any further. "I'm sorry for you," she said. "At least you can keep in touch now."

"Yeah, I haven't quite decided if it will hurt more to be in touch knowing we can't be together or to not hear from him. But I'm choosing the staying in touch part regardless."
