The Roof, Wednesday Night

Bel? Still in demon form.

Elizabeth had suggested that it was an emotional reason, not a physical or magical one, that was causing him to be stuck in demon form. Janet's examination seemed to confirm this. Willing to try anything at this point, Bel was on the roof, trying to relax. Trying not to think about how he would be under a death sentence if he ever set foot in the Underworld again. Trying not to think about how he had almost screwed up his relationship with Phoebe by keeping things from her. Or how he was worried that he couldn't control his demon side. Or that people thought he was sleeping with Veronica. Or that Angel was shacked up with Logan.

Stressed, him? Nah.

So. Relax. Bel lit up a cigarette and settled by the garden, trying to clear his head.

"Well... That surprises me, because I know she's friends with both you and Veronica, but Nadia can think what she wants. It doesn't matter what other people think. How did you find out how Phoebe felt about it? Did you talk?"

"Veronica told me," Bel grumbled. "Phoebe asked her if we were."

"So Veronica gave her the obvious answer and hasn't talked to you directly yet so you think she still has doubts?"

"I don't know?" Bel said helplessly.

"So then you haven't talked to her about it." she said. "I'll be happy to help you find something relaxing to do Bel, but hobbies only help so much. I don't think underwater basket weaving is going to help you make this go away if you're unwilling to talk to Phoebe about what's bugging you."

"Yeah, maybe you're right," Bel said grudgingly. "I should talk to her. I just don't like her seeing me like this."

"What, you think she doesn't know?" Pippi asked with a grin.

"She woke up with me like this," Bel grumbled. "That must've been terrifying enough."

Pippi thought about it, she didn't remember hearing any sreams coming from above in the last day or two.

"If I know Phoebe... And I may not. I'd guess that she would be more scared for you then of you. She just seems like that kinda gal."

"She is pretty worried," Bel said, frowning.

"Just talk to her." she said, "It seems to me that you're stressed about uncertainty. So where you can get a definitive andswer, you should pursue it... If, after you talk to her, you're still hulking out? I'll be happy to teach you embroidery or knitting and tatting."

Bel gave Pippi an "Are you crazy?" look. "Even if I wanted to learn to knit -- and I don't -- do you think these hands could handle it?" He held up his black-clawed hands.

"I didn't think you *did*!" she said with a giggle. "That was a joke! ...Boy houdy. You are wound up pretty tight."

"Yeah," Bel said glumly. "That's what Janet said."

"There there Bel." she said giving him a hug, and possibly lifting him into the air or very nearly doing so.

Bel grunted as he was lifted into the air. "I still can't believe you can do things like that," he said. "You look like a normal girl."

"Oops, sorry." she said setting him down. "You're one of the few people I can touch without fear of crushing them. And looks can be deciving, you should have figured that out by now! Particularly in your current state."

"Yeah," Bel growled sarcastically. "Inside I'm a fluffy playful kitten."

"You could be." she offered. "If you wanted."

"No thanks," Bel said. "I don't want to be a cat. Somehow that might prove as difficult for my relationship with Phoebe as this is."

"I meant metaphoricly." she said poking him in the side, "You know what? You need to spend some time with Walter's pet Pup. I bet he'd LOVE you and spending time with him would probably be very relaxing for you!"
