Fourth Floor Common Room - Friday evening

After the week he'd had, Dean decided he didn't want to do anything that Friday night, but veg out in front of the tv and not think too hard about anything.

Hence, here he was, camped out in the fourth floor common room, flipping channels and looking for the most brainless show he could find.

"It's a good name," she nodded.

"So's Dawn."

It occurred to Dawn that she didn't know who picked it for her. "Beats the heck out of Buffy, that's for sure," she snickered.

"Oh god, yes," Dean agreed, then looked around to make sure Buffy hadn't overheard. He lowered his voice before continuing. "With a name like Buffy, she was probably destined to end up a cheerleader."

"Or a poodle," Dawn snickered.

Dean gave a loud bark of laughter at that. "You've thought a lot about this, haven't you?"

"Younger sister," she said, "I got left behind a lot. Did you know she was left on the doorstep by baby howler monkeys?"

"That would explain a lot," Dean deadpanned.

Dawn laughed hard and almost fell off the couch. "Thank you! That's what I keep telling people, but noooooo, all I hear is 'don't be silly, your sister was born before you were.'"

"Now if she had been born before there were baby howler monkeys, that might be a legitimate argument," Dean said, still keeping a straight face though it was an effort.

Dawn was still laughing. "You're the best, you know?"

Dean smiled at her. "I'm glad you think so."

"I have to--it's in my contract," she nodded.

"There's a contract?"

"You don't have a contract?" Dawn pouted. "You should totally have a boyfriend contract."

Dean shook his head. "No contract. I guess I've just been kinda... freelancing."

"Hmmm," she considered that. "Do you get good benefits freelancing?"

He grinned and leaned in close. "I don't have any complaints so far."

"That's good, because the complaint department's on vacation." She grinned back. "In Tibet."

"Hot vacation spot, that Tibet. What with all the..." Dean trailed off, trying to think of something that he knew was in Tibet. "Llamas?"

"Don't forget the yaks," Dawn teased. "They get grumpy."

"Can't have that. Who wants a grumpy yak yakking all over the place?"

Dawn giggled. "That was so wrong."

"Well grumpy yaks usually are," Dean said in a matter of fact tone. "That's partly why they're so grumpy."

"Do you have a lot of conversations with yaks?" She bounced a little. "Ooh! Are you the yak whisperer?"
