Fourth Floor Common Room; Late Monday Night.

Sakurazaki had embarked on a very busy day, mostly to try to keep her mind on the fact that, every single time she entered her room, her sword was still not there. Besides, she did have a lot of work to do. First, she had to go to the library ~~handwavily due to work~~ to do her research on dream catchers and Native American magics, and then she booked it over to All and Sundries ~~again, handwavily due to work~~ to pick up the supplies. And then she researched some more, wanting to make sure that if she was going to do this, she was going to do this well.

It was time to get to work, though. Not feeling very tired, anyway, Sakurazaki drifts over to the common room so her work doesn't keep her roommate up, having a seat on the floor and setting diligently to work, materials and reference guides and scribbled Japanese notes surrounding her.

This would be Alphonse wandering around late at night. Some days, the boy just doesn't sleep. So he's up on the fourth floor and sees Sakurazaki in there-- someone he'd been meaning to run into for the past few days. He's curious about what she's working on, but doesn't want to disturb her if she's that busy. "Sakurazaki?" he quietly called out.

"Hm?" Sakurazaki lifts her head up from where she arches over a book, finger still pressed against the line she was reading. There was a pencil resting between her teeth, but she quickly removes it as she sits up, tucking it behind her right ear. She smiles brightly. "Oh, hey, Alphonse."

"Don't mind if I join you, do you?" he asked, entering the room. "You seem to be hard at work."

"I don't mind at all; my brain could probably use the break." She even sets down the unfinished dream catcher in one of her hands to prove the point better.

Alphonse picked a seat on the floor across from Sakurazaki. "I couldn't get to sleep myself. Oh! I've been wondering since; did you two ever get permission to use your swords?"

Sakurazaki instantly beams, shoulders shrugging up with contained excitement. Her hands even clasp together. "We did! It's so exciting! And I'm getting my sword sent over. I should be here any day now. I can't wait to see her again! It's a good thing I've got lots of stuff to work on, otherwise I think I'd go crazy with impatience! Any day now, and I'll have her back, and not only have her back, but be able to train with her again." She concludes the ramble with a long, wistful sigh of happiness.

"That's great!" Alphonse really was happy for her, especially since she looked downright excited about it. "I'd be interested in seeing you use it sometime."

"I'll probably be down there a lot, and you're welcome to stop by and visit if you'd like, so long as I'm not working on anything too dangerous." She drops her voice a little dramatically with the last work, but then Sakurazaki laughs a little. "And once Willow and I have finished decorating, too."

"Naw, I'm used to dangerous things. A little sword practicing won't throw me off guard," Alphonse said with a grin. "If you need any help with that, I could chip in."

"Oh, it's not that, it's just that the principal said that we need to have safety as our biggest priority and, due to the small space and the nature of some of my training, it's really best if there aren't too many people around when I work. Plus, the Shinmei Ryuu guards its secrets closely." She nods gravely. "But any help would be great. Things should get into full swing once I get Yuunagi."

Yes, there's a slight bounce with that name, even if it is only in her shoulders. That's a pretty big bounce for Sakurazaki.

"Ah, I understand. But I definitely know better than to be careless, especially in a place like that." he nodded. "Certainly! Just let me know if you need my help and I'll be right there."

She chuckles slightly. "Welcome to the team, then, Alphonse."

"Glad to be a part of it," he replied. Alphonse gestured at the unfinished dreamcatcher she picked up earlier and asked, "So what kind of stuff are you working on this time?"

"It's sort of a...special assignment," she says with an air of seriousness. "The fact that we learned how to make dream catchers in Arts and Crafts today, when it could possibly be a solution to the problem, just seems too perfect to be a coincidence. So I went and did some research on how they work, figured out a plan on how to create possibly the most effective one, and then, hopefully, problem will be solved." She nods, hoping that explaination covers things enough to satiate any curiousity; she feels it necissary to keep this particular mission under close guard.

Alphonse tilted his head, looking at the dream catcher skeptically. "So they're supposed to 'catch' dreams? Never heard of them before."

She nods. "That's what I've gathered from my research, yes. It's Native American magic, and, what you do is you hang it over your bed, like so..." Sakurazaki lifts up the dreamcatcher. "As you sleep, according to the lore, dreams sort of drift in the air, I guess, and they pass through here..." She indicates the webbed space in the centre of the dream catcher. "Good dreams pass through the opening in the middle, onto the dreamer, while bad dreams get caught in the web."

"Sounds kinda strange," Alphonse said incredulously. "I guess it isn't too farfectched though, since there's all sorts of wierd magic floating around here. I wonder how it determines what's a good or bad dream?"

"I get the impression that dreams, like most other things, carry with them a certain aura or energy, and that's how it can tell. A good dream would give off good dream vibes that work as its passport, while a bad dream would give off bad dream vibes that get it tangled."

Sakurazaki shrugs. "I figured that it was at least worth a try."

"Huh," Alphonse rubbed his chin; it seemed like a strange idea to him for dreams to be able to get caught in a bunch of threads, especially since it was mostly a subconscious thing. Of course, he had to remember where he was at, and apparently all sorts of strange and unfamiliar things were possible, so he couldn't throw the idea out, either. "Have you been having bad dreams lately?"

"I haven't, no," she shakes her head. "Not that I recall, anyway. This is for someone else."

"Well that's nice of you," he said. "Hope it works; restless nights becase of bad dreams are the worst."

Sakurazaki nods solemnly. If her theory was correct, these were much worse than just restless nights...

But it wouldn't do to dwell on that, especially knowing that she couldn't really talk about it. So she smiles lightly at Alphonse and asks, "So, have you been up to anything interesting lately?"

"Nah, nothing too exciting," Alphonse answered. "For the most part, I've just been lounging around in my room or wandering from one common room to another. Which would be why I'm looking more forward to workshops tomorrow than usual."

She smiles lightly. "Feels like it's been the exact opposite for me. I've been so busy that I haven't really even thought about my workshops." She blushes slightly. "I might want to get on that; my work for my documentary is kind of suffering."

"Ack, waiting until the last minute is never good," he said. "I really ought to find more things to occupy my time with." Alphonse nodded at that. "I wonder what technique we'll be learning in Karate this week?"
