Gym, before workshops

Cameron had heard the radio, but he wasn't sure what to think of it all. At least he knew that Veronica hadn't gone to confront Tyler on her own. Still, he was completely focussed on hitting the bag.

Veronica showed up in the gym and wondered if Cam was going to chew her out or be happy she didn't go alone.

"Morning," she greeted with a smile. Maybe he hadn't heard radio.

Breaking his concentration, Cameron specatularly missed the bag but managed to stop it in time from hitting him.

"Morning, Miss Mars," he greeted, sounding pretty neutral.

Okay, no point in beating around the bush. Especially since Veronica was planning to fill him in anyway. "Did you hear the radio last night?" she asked.

"For once," he nodded. "Sounds like you've been busy."

"Yeah, I have. I managed to do a good bit of digging into Tyler's past and found out he has a history of doing the kind of stuff he's been doing around here," Veronica explained. "So now he's on guard. I told him that I was going to talk to a few people and they, along with myself and Bel would be watching him."

She paused and looked at Cameron. "You were at the top of my list."

"That's good to know," he replied with a small smile. "So do we have a babysitting schedule or something?"

Veronica chuckled. "No. Just keep your eyes and ears open. If he does anything even vaguely dangerous, let me know."

She explained a little more about Tyler's history, including his psychiatric issues, just so Cameron would understand what they were up against.

"Just keep that bit to yourself," she requested. "It didn't make the radio and I told him I wouldn't tell everyone, just the people that would be watching him."

"I won't," Cameron promised. "Were you under the impression that he wanted to prevent this from repeating itself?"

"He said he doesn't want to hurt anyone," Veronica said. "And he said he can mostly control it. I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt unless he does something stupid again."

"He wouldn't be the first one in this school to deserve a second chance," Cameron said. "Maybe having people watch out for him will help."

"That's what I'm hoping," Veronica said. "I figure if I can forgive Bel, then there's hope for anyone."

Cameron grinned, "Yeah, I'm glad Bel decided not to give me an excuse to kick his ass." He was going to completely ignore the fact that Bel most likely could kick his. "I'll keep an eye on Tyler. He's a Stickbug Brother so it makes sense."

"Cool," Veronica grinned back. "Now, o wise one, what are you going to teach me today?"

"I was thinking it's time for you to hit the ground," Cameron bounced on the balls of his feet.

"Oh, I sort of learned that with Pip a long time ago," Veronica said. "Not that I really remember though."

"He taught me that too," Cameron said and considered it. "Refreshing your mind might be a good idea. Learning how to fall is pretty useful even if you're not planning to get into a fight."

Veronica nodded. "I can see how that would be a useful skill. Let's do it."

"All right, better move over to the mats then," Cameron pulled off his gloves and tossed them to the side as he moved over to the mats. "Do you remember the principles or shall I demonstrate?"

"I think I remember the basics," Veronica said, following him to the mats. "Stay loose, protect my head, stuff like that, right?"

"Pretty much," he nodded. "And use your hands to knock off most of the impact," he said as he started explaining it once more. And while he was at it, he decided to demonstrate for himself anyway.

Veronica nodded as she watched his demonstration. "That makes sense in theory, but I think it's hard to remember when you're actually falling," she said.

But that didn't stop her from trying, though she tensed up a little and forgot to protect her head.

Cameron winced a bit and held out his hand to help her up. "I know it's a lot to take in at first, but once you get the hang of it should come natural. It's be easier if we could make you fall in slow motion."

Peter headed down to the gym before First Aid. Training with the practice swords seemed frustrating when he was so close to being able to use his own, but it wouldn't do to not work out at all until then. He nodded to the people in the gym already and, grabbing a practice blade, started to drill.

"Yo, Stickbug Brother Peter," Cameron greeted. "How's it going?"

Veronica took his hand and once she was back on her feet, she rubbed her hip, which had hit kind of hard.

"I have a feeling I'm going to be bruised again today," she said ruefully.
