Third Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

Bel wandered down to the third floor common room and, finding it empty, claimed the couch in the name of the Empire of Belthazor. If only he had a flag. Sprawled on the couch, he flipped through the channels on the TV. Oooh, "Ghost Hunters" was on.

Blair bounced in and grinned. "Bel! Hi! How are you? How is everything? What are you watching? Do you want popcorn?"

He plopped onto the floor in front of the couch and pulled a already popped bag of microwave popcorn out of his backpack.

Bel stared at Blair and wondered just where he got all that energy. "Hey, Blair," he said. "Doing okay. Watching something about ghosts."

"Ghosts are cool. Don't you wish we had a haunted house that we could explore around here? We could all get hats! You would look good in a hat. I'm glad you're doing okay, are you doing any meditations? Seriously man, do you want popcorn? I drank this gigantic coffee and just decided to roam around." Blair took a deep breath and grinned. "How's Phoebe?"

Bel helped himself to a handful of popcorn. "Ghosts can be pretty nasty," Bel said. "Haven't dealt with any personally but I've heard stories." He tried to pick out the other questions in Blair's babblings. "Phoebe's good. A little depressed about Father's Day, though. And no more meditating, at least not so far. Haven't needed to."

"See, that's why we need to go hunting them. With hats." Blair nodded firmly and munched on popcorn. "That's good that you haven't needed to meditate although sometimes it's nice to do for fun. Like a tune up. Why was Phoebe depressed?"

"Her dad walked out on her family when she was a kid," he said. "She never got to know him. Something we have in common."

Blair bit his lip and nodded. "That sucks for both of you, I can't imagine. My dad...well, I don't know who my dad is. Naomi said there were a couple of possibilities but she couldn't narrow it down. But it must be horrible to have your dad make the choice to leave. You and Phoebe didn't deserve that. I'm sorry man."

"My dad didn't leave," Bel said. "My mother killed him. When I was three."

Blair blinked. "Oookay. Well that ranks right up there in the suckiness of life."

After Lorelai's baby shower, Piper decided she didn't want to go back to her room right away. So she wandered into a random common room.

Bel looked up as Piper walked in. "Hey," he said.

"Hey," Piper replied. She wondered if she should leave before this could get awkward.

"So, truth spell, huh?" Bel asked, taking awkward to a new level.

"You heard about that, huh?" Piper asked nervously.

"Ever heard of something called personal gain?" Bel said. "What the hell were you casting that spell for? What were you trying to find out?"

"I cast it for the wrong reasons," Piper said quietly, looking away.

"Why?"

Piper sighed. "You really don't want to know why..."

Blair waved from his spot on the floor. "Hi Piper!"

Piper waved back. "Hey Blair. How've you been?"

"Great! I had coffee tonight and I made popcorn and Bel and I are watching ghosts. How have you been?"

"I've been okay," Piper said. "I just got back from a baby shower."

"Really? Who's having a baby?" Blair bounced. "Did you read the paper today?"

"Ms. Gilmore-Danes," Piper replied. "Yeah, I read it. Nice article."

"Rory's mom? That's very cool. What did you buy for the baby?" Blair bounced and grinned. "Thank you! It was my very first one."
