Saturday Night, Outside the Dorms

Ranma was returning from a trip off the island. He's got a few bags slung over one shoulder and in his hands he carries his new pet. A beagle puppy. He carries him facing outward to show him the dorm that they're slowly approaching. In the bag are treats, one squeak toy, two bowls, and a large bag of puppy food. He talks quietly in Japanese to the dog in his arms, //This is where we live pup..//

He can't just keep calling him pup. He needs a name. He's not good with things like this. He sits down outside the dorm next to the doorway. Why did he come here, to Fandom? It wasn't all just to hide was it? He was supposed to start liking some things he hates. "I'll call you Mizu then." Water. It's not such a bad name. Plus, he couldn't bring himself to call it Kitty. Or John.

"Mizu? You named your dog 'Lake'?"

Ninja-like, John stepsout from behind a bush near the school.

Annoyed glare. "No I named him water."

Mizu wriggles from Ranma's grip and sniffs at John's ankles. He procedes to use John's shoelaces as a game of tug-o-war.

"Mizu come here."

John pulls his shoes back slowly, playing. "C'mere, Pond."

"Mizu!" The puppy doesn't really know his name yet, he just got it anyway. He manages to untie John's laces and he pulls the string as hard as he can, though it's about the equivalant of light breeze. Mizu shakes his head hard, ears flopping.

John squats down and starts wrestling with the puppy with his hand, playfully swatting it (him? Her?) away from his shoelaces. Great. How's he supposed to tie his shoes with an arm in a sling? :)

Mizu nips once or twice at his hands. He happily wagging his tail and barking a bit at John.

John barks back. He unties his sling, doublesit, and uses it as a pulltoy.

He pulls at it for a bit but is ADD like every puppy and he runs a cirle around John stopping to bite his hand then lick his fingers.

John tugs on his tail whenever the puppy turns away.

Yip! Mizu gets mad about the tail pull and nips him before scampering over to Ranma and proping his front paws up on Ranma's arm to bark in his ear. "Hey don't worry. John's not too mean." He scratches the dog's floppy ears.

John looks innocent. He grabs his sling and starts slooooly pulling it to himself.

"Hey stupid. Your shoe is untied."

"I know." He ties his shoe and puts the sling back on. "So. How're you gonna sneak that past the school admins?"

"I asked already. My roomate said okay too."
