The Gym, Sunday Afternoon

Joxer had a practice sword in hand, and was battering the punching bag quite mercilessly.

"You like that Jett? How about that! And that!"

Yes, he was taunting the bag as if it were his mean older brother.

Following the World Cup game, Peter swung down to the gym for the scheduled sparring match.

"Afternoon, Joxer," he said with a nod as he started stretching out.

Pippi also decides to flounce down to the Gym after the World Cup game.

"Afternoon!" she greeted the people already in the Gym before heading for the jump ropes.

Joxer attempted to sheathe the practice sword into his own scabbard. It didn't work so well, and he ended up unbalancing himself and falling to the floor.

"Hi Peter," he said, picking himself back up.

"I didn't mean to startle you," Peter said, blinking. "You well?"

Joxer brushed himself off. "I'm doing just fine," he said. "You know, I'm new to this whole football concept? But I'm really hoping Argentina wins more."

Peter grinned. "You should have come to watch the match in the Common Room this morning. Then you could know more about the game when Argentina plays Germany on Friday."

"Friday? I'll make sure to be there to watch it. The game, I mean," Joxer said. "So this football thing happens on the TV?"

"We're watching it on TV because the matches are actually happening in Germany," Peter explained. "National teams are playing each other for the title of world champion which is why the Argentinian flag was being worn last night."

Joxer thought for a second. "Isn't Germany where all the Visigoths are?" He shook his head. "Doesn't matter." He hefted the practice sword and smiled.

"Are you ready for me?"

"That's where they used to be," Peter agreed. He jumped up and went over to grab a practice blade from the rack. "Ready indeed. Till a time or until someone calls out?"

"I think we can trust each other. Until someone calls out works best," Joxer said. He hefted his practice sword and smiled. "Hope you like losing."

Peter laughed. "I'm British. We're stoic."

He saluted Joxer and assumed a guard stance.

Realizing the she has a little bit of time before she needs to fully execute her Save-My-Friendship-With-Ranma plans, Sakurazaki returns to the gym after her supply-gathering handwaviling venture into town before the rain got too bad. Yes, she's still a little sore from last week. This is why she takes a deep breath at the door, nodding a greeting to those already present, and reminds herself to take it slow before she cuts across the mats to start her balancing forms. Tells herself, as if she's not going to be hearing it from Peter.

Joxer nodded at Peter and took a stance that was really more of an agressive pose. With his arms spread, he was really leaving himself open.

Peter bowed to Setsuna when he saw her and grinned internally when he realised she was laying off a bit."

Peter looked at the guard position strangely but moved in to attack with a horizontal cut about at Joxer's waist-height. Really more of a testing maneuver than actual strike.

Sakurazaki smiles and bows in return, sighing internally with gratefullness that he didn't say anything.

Joxer does manage to hop back out of the way of the swing. But when he hops back and takes a wild swing, he's completely off balance and in severe danger of toppling over again.

Peter moves out of the way of his swing, more as a form then because it was actually in the area of connecting and held an attack until Joxer was back on balance.

Peter totally doesn't keep an eye on her while he's sparring with Joxer. Except for the part where he does.

"Up England!" Peter replied.

"Peter!" Pippi waved. "It's been ever so long since I've seen you! How are you old bean?"

Joxer would have appreciated Peter not taking advantage, if he'd been aware of it. He got back to his balance and outstretched his arms again.

Peter raised an eyebrow before moving into attack again. This time feinting left before striking towards the right side.

"Tip top, old chap, tip top!"
