Gym, Tuesday afternoon

Pip usually isn't one for katas. They usually require time he doesn't want to spend and, in his mind, don't really help you in a fight. "Please excuse me, but I need to go through the other three moves before I can block, would you hold on a second?"


Still, occasionally, he just feels like he needs to center his chi. Or something. Whatever chi is, anyway. Thus, here he was, on the mat, working on his second kata.

After interviewing Blair which is still being sp'ed like WHOA, Pippi decides to burn off some extra energy in the gym.

Seras knew that being in a school with such a well equipped gym was a golden opportunity for her. You had to be quite fit to be a police officer, after all. Or at least to be a good one. And, despite all she had learned, that was the goal she kept in mind. Focusing on it was helping her not go mad with 'what ifs'.

She made her way down to the gym after workshop and spied a familiar face.

"Captain Longstocking, I presume?"

"Good afternoon Officer Victoria!" Pippi chimed as she waved her jumprope at the other girl.

Seras smiled and looked around the gym, a bit bewildered. She'd only been here the once to spar with Walter, after all.

"Good afternoon. How're things?"

"Things are good. I got a lot done for my movie so far today and it isn't even half over!"

"Fantastic! I can't wait to see the finnished project. You're going to have to hold a screening," said Seras, "With popcorn and a red carpet."

"Oh yes, we're presenting our movies on the 11th of July!"

"Excellent! We'll all have to get dressed up like movie stars in funny clothes and sunglasses," she grinned, "And, you Madam Director will need jodphurs, a beret, and a riding crop."

"But I'd rather not have detention on that day..."

"So, no riding crop?" asked Seras, sounding a tad disappointed.

"Oh, I"m sure we can work a riding crop in somewhere," Pip said, finishing his kata. "Always room for a riding crop."

"Do you know where we could get one?"

"I don't. Maybe the good Mr. Bernadette does."

Pip tilted his head to the side slightly. "Me? Well, it's not like I've got one... maybe the people down at the Fourth Sin could help."

"The Fourth Sin?"

"Local brothel," Pip said. "I've never been there, but I think one of the workers there is teach a summer class."

"Miss Becky." Pippi offered, because she's helpful like that.

"Ethnic Stero types dictate that he does. I'll bet he has one on him right now. I know I don't go any where with out my wellingtons and my deer stalker hat."

"Hey now," she said, "You had my pickled herring... Besides... I don't think his pants would fit me."

Seras shook her head.

"No, no. The jodphurs are German. Stereotypical director type people are always vaguely European. So, hat from France, pants from Germany, riding crop from Amsterdam."

She almost mentioned that the usually wore monocles, too. But, hey, probably not a good idea...

Seras crossed her arms.

"Nothing comes between me and my Wellies."

"Football. And, possibly tea. But only if it's brewed properly. And served with crumpets. Crumpets are essential."

"Ah but with football, you can be a football hoolie! Which reminds me that we're slacking in that regard..."

Pippi nodded.

"Next time somebody important wins we must paint ourselves and find something to break."

"This is true. What ought we to break? Proper shennanigans take careful planning, after all."

"Maybe we could break into an empty shop and have a crazy-go-nuts party?"

Seras raised an eyebrow.

"An empty shop, you say?"

"Ya." she said. "There's a few on the island I think."

John goes into the gym for some quality therapy. Physical, that is. TIme to get his arm working again.
