The roof, Friday night (after Caritas)
Nadia had changed out of her flapper outfit and was up on the roof waiting for Pippi to join her.
She was anxious and excited at the same time. They might find out how Walter was doing, tonight. She hoped they got good news.
[ooc: Crystal ball thread is locked to Pippi, but I can't stop you from showing up before or after]

She couldn't think of a rhyme.
"Um... Crystal ball, we want to see Walter. Please show us Walter. We haven't lost him, we know where he is... Where he was... We want to see how he's doing, how he did."

Nothing.
"... Please?"
The ball started to glow, getting brighter and brighter.

*the drone of an airplane (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/0001q1qs) muffled by the sound a voice asks a question you can't quite make out*
The light reaches a brilliant glow that's hard to look at and holds there.

If only she could see him. . . .

*the droning continues and is joined by rushing wind then familiar gleeful hooting (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/0002fy14) as the wind gets louder and the droning fades away*

The color drains from Pippi's face (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/0008c1yq)

Pippi leans in more, her nose is almost touching the ball.
*the conversation stops but the eating doesn't the hooting gets louder and soon sounds of whipping wires and breaking glass (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/0008erx7/s640x480) the classical music stops with a jarring scratch*

Kick their asses.

*eventually the screaming stops covering the sounds of objects falling to the floor and the familiar scream of wires (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/0006ewbs/s640x480)(

She just suddenly wasn't entirely sure she wanted it.

*Splendid skill. You're quite the angry boy, aren't you? You said your name was Valter didn't you boy? You're very skilled, aren't you boy? With your power you'd certainly want to join my troups... the sound of the wind blowing through a window making the rest of what the speaker says unintelligible*
*You must be half asleep fatty."

*sounds of a skuffle punching kicking grunting voices grunting and crying out in pain and surprise (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/00074kwp/s640x480)*
*labored breathing a surprised noise cut off (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/00079e4p)*
*a subtle rumbling and shaking (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/0007b6fz)*
*somebody is choking a door of some sort opens and a deafening gunshot sounds*

That . . . didn't sound good.

*You're late you idiot! gasping for breath You bastard where's your shape? Are you still waking up from your nap?*
*the voices fade and are covered by a strange wet sound not entirely unlike you might hear when squeezing a ripe piece of fruit*
*I see it (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/0007wg0b) the girl's voice It's probably over a hundred years old*
There is a soft whimper, but that might actually have come from Pippi.
*crashing and crushing and smashing and fighting (http://pics.livejournal.com/walter_n_wires/pic/0007ygg7/s640x480)*

The light in the ball fades and goes out.

"He's okay." she said quietly. "He's up, he's running around, he's kicking ass, he'll be back."
no subject
Would she?
What's wrong, Angel of Death? You don't look so good.
"I think . . . I think I'm going to go to bed."

"Pippi. . . ." She paused, suddenly not sure what she was going to say. "Thank you."
no subject
"Yeah..." she said. "He'll be roughed up good. But intact."
She hurried past to the door, still clutching the ball.

He'll be okay.
What's wrong, Angel of Death? You don't look so good.
You're late, you idiot! . . .
If Nadia ever got her hands on whoever the late idiot was, there'd be hell to pay.
Somehow she doubted she'd be getting much sleep, tonight.
