Main campfire, Saturday morning

Rizzo, sitting on top of one of the picnic tables by the unlit fire, leaned back and folded her legs in the tight black dress she had found in her closet this morning. Loose t-shirts and those jeans? So not her style. Why she even had them, she didn't know. She had woken up with the worst craving for a cigarette, a need she was now satisfying with a long drag and relieved exhale. She held the cigarette loosely in one hand, leaning back on the other as she surveyed the goings-on around her with an amused little smile, sunglasses perched on top of her head at the moment.

Maia's eyes got wide as she stared at her, the tears now spilling over. Her hands trembled, she didn't take a step towards her though. She stared at her for several minutes before she stepped away again. "No I guess not. I thought you were someone else." Maia's voice was hallow, her eyes not coming up to meet Susan's now as she turned around and walked away. She brushed angry tears away, dirt all over her clothes. The picnic bag and it's contents she had been carrying laid strewn out all over the ground forgotten.

Maia nearly stumbled over at the words, she swiped again at her tears. If Susan wanted them to end she could have just said so, not been so cruel. If this was some kind of joke or experiment for her class; no Susan would never have shoved Maia away like that if it had been an example. She had shoved her like she hated her. Maia made it to the Koala cabin, she didn't think her legs would carry her any further. The cabin was empty thankfully as Maia slid down against the door; her face buried in her hands.
