Fourth floor common room, Sunday morning

Dean was in the kitchen cooking up pancakes for Dawn. Making the batter had been relatively easy, but trying to come up with funny shapes was proving a little more difficult. He tried to do a car but it came out looking more like a deformed amoeba. He had better look with the teddy bear -- one large circle with two smaller ones for ears and that was the first one he presented to his girl friend, along with sides of bacon and eggs.

"This okay?" he asked, still in full grovelling mode.

Maia inched closer to Susan as she stared at Dean. "Hi." She said shortly, introductions were so not a good idea.

"Hi," Dean said, doing his best to look as... unskeevy as he could. "I'd introduce you to Dawn, but you just missed her."

"Because this needs to get even more awkward," Ivanova said wryly. Maia clearly didn't want to be here, which Ivanova could understand. Finding large red hickies on your girl's neck that you didn't cause could do that to a girl. "Anyway, I just smelled pancakes and thought Pip or Pippi might be making them, but they aren't, so we'll just get going."

"There's some batter left if you want some," Dean said because it would be the same offer he'd make to anyone. "I was just cleaning up and going to leave so I won't be in your hair...."

"No, thanks," Ivanova replied, which would be the same answer she would give to anyone. "I'd end up burning down the dorms and then where would we be?"

"Back in the cabins? Which, at least for Seahorse, wouldn't be a bad thing."

"That sounds like it has a story behind it." Ivanova winced as Maia squeezed her hand. "Which I should really hear later. We should be going."
