Cally was plopped down on a couch, idly flicking through the channels. She was really just killing time, procrastinating. She needed to move more of her stuff, but wasn't really wanting to do that, quite yet.

"Gah," Cally said. "Glad we don't have anything like that at home."

"It's better than being overrun by evil," Z said.

"Well, yeah," Cally said. "Thankfully our evil robots all went away."

"They just...up and left? There wasn't like an energy wave or anything? Man, you're lucky."

"Well, it was after a long and ugly war," Cally said. "But they eventually did go away, yeah."

"Wow. That sucks."

"Was years and years ago," Cally said. "We've lived in peace for most of the time since then, though."

"So that's good," Z said. "It seems like we defeat one threat and there's another one waiting in the wings."

Cally nodded. "Pretty peaceful life, if you stay outta politics," she said. "Course, I'm goin' into dentistry, so, yeah. Not a politician."

"That's a good job. People need dentists, after all. Just make sure you wait until the novocaine takes effect, and I'm sure you'll be fine."

"Yep," Cally said. "I'm gonna be the best dentist in the universe. Especially if I keep that in mind."

"Your patients will be very loyal. Especially if you remember that."

Cally smiled. "Thanks for the vote of confidence. Half the people I tell I'm gonna be a dentist sort of blink at me in disbelief."

"Why would they do that? Somebody has to want to be a dentist, or we would all have no teeth. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a botanist, like my dad," Z confessed.

"Oh, cool," Cally said. "I'm sorta following my dad, when I join up with the fleet so I can pay for dental school. But I won't be trying to make a career of it."

"The military pays for college where you're from, too?"

"Yep," Cally said. "Year or so of service and I'll have all I need to go."

"That's awesome."

"Yep," Cally said. "And given that the chances of war breaking out are one in a billion? I got it made."

"So, no chance of the evil robots coming back or some random aliens showing up from two galaxies over? I like the sound of wherever it is you're from."

"Well, I guess there's a possibility," Cally said. "But I'm not placing bets on it."

"Good plan. You can't live worrying about things that probably aren't gonna happen. Like, some people are all scared of Emperor Gruumm, but I'm pretty sure he's never going to get to Earth."

"Yep," Cally said. "We got nuffin' to worry about."
