The gym, Monday morning

Aeryn's not up too early today, at least not by her standards, and that means she has to do something to feel productive. Therefore it's the gym, but she stays away from the bag, instead heading to do a circuit on the machines. Maybe two, she'll see how it goes.

As the whole training thing didn't happen at all yesterday, Cameron was set on making up for it today. He smiled a bitas it'd been a while since he ran into Aeryn here. "Yo!"

Aeryn's pretty surprised about it, too, actually. "Hey," she greets him, smiling a little. "Haven't seen you here for a while."

"No," he agreed, making his way to the matt to start off with some stretches. "I'll be camping out here for the next few months, though. How are you?"

"I'm good," she says, which is true except for the stray issue here and there. She finishes the set and takes a break. "You?"

"Great," he grins because he's still on a buzz from this weekend and it's just good. "And not hung over anymore which helps a lot."

Aeryn shakes her head. Like she should talk. "Good," she says. "I doubt I'd be seeing you here if you were."

"I don't know, I might be really decidated," he argues, but then again he pretty much crashed the whole of yesterday. "Okay, so maybe not. I still need to up the training. I got a reply back from the academy on Friday that I'm officially a possible candidate and they want me to take the physical aptitude test," he explained cheerfully.

That's a real smile out of her. "Congratulations. When is the test?"

"I don't have a date yet, I need to set it up myself before the end of the year. I'm thinking I should get some more training done before I get the ball moving," he explained, sounding pretty excited about it all.

"I'm very happy for you, Cameron," Aeryn says honestly. "And you still have at least a few months to prepare."

"Thanks," he smiles and gets up from the matt. "I'm planning on using hte most of them. If you see me slacking off? Feel free to throw something at me."

She grins. "I may do that anyway."

"I'll make sure to wear a helmet while outside my room," he says with a laugh.

Jamie walks into the gym and gives a wave toward Cameron and Aeryn before heading straight to the punching bag.

After doing a quick stretch out routine he begins to pound the heck out of the back using a series of punches and kics that are somewhat uncharacteristic for Jamie.

In other words they actually look like fighing moves and not some dope who monkey piles on his oppoenents and pummels them.

Aeryn stops what she's doing on the machine and watches for a while. "Where was that in class last week?" she asks finally.

"Picked up some new skills since then," Jamie said executing a spinning kick. "It helps to have dupes go out to learn this stuff for you."

"I bet," she says, still watching. "Where did you... or one of you... learn this?"

"Two places actually," Jamie said working on a punching combination. "I learned karate from an old man out in California and some other martial arts from this guy who... Well let's just call him one scary dude."

"It looks like it paid off," she tells him, nodding. It's impressive. Especially when she did see him in class last week.

"Yep," Jamie said finishing off his final set of moves and then giving the puncing bag one final punch for good measure. "Hopefully the next time I have to use violence I won't need a sock for a distraction. Which reminds me that you still owe my sock puppet an apology.

"Remember? The sock puppet distracted that one set of guards and you pooh-pooh the sock puppet's effectiveness?" Jamie said reaching into his gym bag and pulling out the sock. "Would you like to apologize now?"
