Dorm Roof - Friday, late afternoon (after workshops and water balloon fight.)

Pippi is sunning herself on the roof with her new friend. Regaling him, in Parstletoung, with stories about the last time she met one of his kind and whistling tunes to him.

He likes being whistled to.

[ooc: Open!]

Tyler hadn't made it to the water balloon fight -- he'd gotten involved in some stuff in his room, and it was late afternoon before he knew it.

Blinking in the late-afternoon heat, he emerged into the sunlight on the roof. "Hi, Pippi."

"I'm not being attacked by a snake, so I guess better than you," Tyler said. "Or is that a student?"

Tyler crouched down and stared fixedly at the snake. "They like sun," he agreed. "Looks like he likes you."

"Hey, reptile," Tyler waved to the snake. "So. Abrupt change of subject?"

If Pippi wasn't Pippi, Tyler might even have been surprised she could talk to the snake. But as this was Pippi, Tyler just nodded to the snake and went on.

"River. She's doing okay, right? I've been avoiding her, but ... I figured you would know."

He felt like an enormous idiot.

Tyler would say possibly -- in fact, probably -- that was true, but not for the reasons Pippi thought it was.

"Um. Good." He stared at his shoes. "I don't actually have much more to say about that, so ... you know. Abruptly change the subject to something else if you want."

It was a rather beautiful day and after the water balloon fight, Peter climbed up to the roof to soak in more sun. He'd changed clothes but was still noticeably glittery. Especially in his hair.

"Afternoon, Your Highness."

Tyler grinned at Peter. "English. You're sparkly."

Silence does not always make Tyler comfortable. Especially when it's silence from a woman holding a snake.

"...or, you could tell me why you're giving me that look. Or you could tell me to get off the roof."

Oh. That.

"I wasn't ready for a relationship," Tyler said. "At least not the kind she needed. And I don't think she was ready, either. The way we ended things? A huge shining example of that."

He put his hands in his pockets. "I'm not proud of myself, or anything."

Tyler shrugged. "Because sometimes people ... are. For weird things. Bad things."

"It is," Tyler nodded. "Anyhow, I lost my temper and you're right, I didn't need to say what I said. Though unless you were hiding under my bed, you weren't there."

Peter wrinkled his nose. "Willow made glitter waterbombs. The bloody stuff won't come off."

Peter bowed to Pippi. "Why thank you. It's good to know my sparkling personality is showing through," he joked.
