The roof, Saturday night

Bel had been drinking heavily that night. No, not sake this time. It was a steep learning curve, but he'd learned his lesson there. He'd stumbled across some old demon brew he'd tucked away, a sweet-sour green drink that packed a punch. Feeling a little homesick for no good reason, he'd decided to finish the bottle.

Then he wandered up to the roof for a cigarette.

The roof was the perfect place for a cigarette. Walter had not been drinking. No. Really.

Alright, maybe a little.

And the roof seemed like a better place to go than sitting in the window to smoke as he did when Al was around.

He nodded to Bel when he spotted him there. "Hey."

"Hey," Bel said as he lit up his cigarette with a small fireball. He may have wavered a little unsteadily on his feet. "Looks like we have the same idea."

Walter raised an eyebrow at the fireball and pulled out his lighter to light his own cigarette. "Al doesn't like when I smoke in our room. I end up hanging out the window."

Phoebe had found a bottle of green stuff that smelled really good and she really liked the taste of it. She had drank a lot of it before deciding to head up to the roof to see the stars.

She wasn't expecting to find anyone else up there.

"Hey, sweetheart," Cole said. He peered at her. "Have you been drinking?"

She hid the now half-empty bottle behind her back. "Hi honey. How are you?"

Walter waved to Phoebe. "Hey, Phoebe. How are you tonight?"

"Hi, Walter," Phoebe said with a wave. "I'm feeling pretty good. You?"

Nadia hadn't been drinking.

She had found some leftover "herbal refreshment", though.

The roof? Well, that was just traditional.

"Hey, Nadia," Bel said. He smirked. "How's your chart?"

"Getting bigger alla time."

"Hey, you." Walter waved to her from his spot on the edge of the roof. "How are you doing?"

"I . . ." Nadia said, lifting a finger. ". . . am . . ." What was the question? "Just fine. Yes."

"Naaaadiiiiiaaaaaa!!!"

Joxer had found a bottle of something green himself.

It was labelled 'ambrosia'.

He had drunk most of it, and had the bottle still in his hand when he climbed to the roof.

"I'm gonna be a god!"

Walter blinked at him. "How's that?"

"Ambrosia!" Joxer said, waving the bottle.

"God of what?" Bel asked.

"Punching bag!"

Lana started to wave at Joxer, then switched hands as it seemed like waving with a bottle of wine might not be the smartest thing to do. Plus, she might spill the wine.

Lana made her way up to the roof with what was left of the bottle of red wine she'd been drinking. She could damn well celebrate on her own. She was a little surprised to see other people already here.

"Hi?"

"Hey, Lana," Bel said, waving at her. He almost lost his footing but kept his balance.
