Fifth Floor Common Room, Friday late afternoon/early evening

No news was not necessarily good news, but it was news in that there was no news. (Say that five times fast and watch your eyes cross.) Walter had spent several hours canvassing the island, looking for anything or anyone out of the ordinary and coming up empty.

So now he was watching Galaxy Quest and eating a box bowl of cereal while he waited to hear back from Nadia.

Gwynn came out of her room long enough to forage for something to drink. She gave Walter a slight, though sad, smile as she headed to the fridge.

"Hi, Walter."

Walter turned away from the TV and swallowed a mouthful of cocoa pebbles before saying, "Hi, Gwynn." He looked at the sad smile and frowned. "Are you alright?"

Gwynn paused, ready to say she was, but then she shook her head.

"Tim is leaving."

"Tim is?" Walter frowned more. "I suppose I thought he would be staying for school."

Ah well.

It would be exceedingly unwise. It would be a good thing, then, that said paranoid vampire hunting butler had noticed Pippi's entrance and did not attempt to introduce her to the grand pirate tradition of artificial limbs.

It was good, because Papa has said very firmly 'no hooks' until she was eight-teen.

Joxer wandered up a floor, hoping to find Kaylee, as usual.

"Walter, Gwynn," He waved in turn. "Anyone seen the cutest girl in the world?"

"Why are you looking for my girlfriend?" Walter asked, waving a spoon in greeting.

"I'm not," Joxer said. "I'm looking for mine." He grinned. "What're you eating?"

"Chocolate cereal," Walter said, pointing to the box of cereal on the counter. "I haven't seen Kaylee, no."

Having gotten in a nap in her morning workshop, and quite possibly managed to stay asleep in the room after talking to the Doctor well after said workshop ended, Nadia was actually looking moderately refreshed for the first time all week.

She may or may not have also been wearing the Doctor's jacket.

"Hey." Walter twisted around to smile at her. "Any news?"

"The Doctor has not seen Sloane. That's . . . all I got."

"Yeah. I don't have much more, either. I did some handwavy looking and asking around and have nothing to go on." He motioned to her to join him. "How's Phoebe?"
