Outside the dorms, Sunday Night
Ranma had finally gotten the punch out of his hair and clothes and when he finished a certain cute beagle was whining at his heels. After leasing Mizu he was walking around outside, paying much more attention to the sky then to what Mizu was doing, or what his own feet were doing. He was only pacing around the dorm at a slow amble, with Mizu doing most of the leading.

He half-expected others to be out, too. It seemed like a pretty...active student body. But what he didn't expect....
Oh, my God, puppy! Very, very cute puppy, ambling along the path on a leash as he approached. Chad was just about ready to crouch down and pet the living bee-geesus out of the adorable little dog when he realized. Oh, yeah, leash. Dog was being let by an owner. He slowly followed the leash up.
Oh! Chad waved. "Ranma, right?" There was a bit of internal gleeing at the fact that the cute dog belonged to someone he'd met.

When he took Mizu, holding him against his massive chest and happily scratching behind the cute puppy's ears, Chad closed his eyes and smiled a little, an obvious side of contentment. Cute, cute puppppppy, and he was pettting it!
It took a moment for him to remember that, oh, yeah. Ranma was there too. He continued scritching and made idle talk to keep from being too puppy-centric. "'Water,' huh? That's a funny name for a dog."

Besides. Puppy. Puppies made a lot more sense than girls, anyway. Small talk could wait, unless Ranma decided he wanted to lead the conversation. Or the puppy away for fear of crushing, but Chad hoped not. He liked Mizu.

And then, when no one was looking, there was.
"Hiya!" Schrodinger said. "I was taking a walk and I saw you and thought I'd say hi!"
He noticed the dog and took a step away.
