The Roof// Friday Evening

Seras had, once again, spent the day in her room. However, rather then shivering under the covers, she'd merely been curled up in bed reading some of her favourite adventure novels.

Now, with her head full of deeds of daring do done by people more noble and lucky than they had any right to be, Seras climbed up onto the roof for some fresh air.

Growing up in either the city or in institutions who had a definite 'inside before dark' policy, Seras had yet to grow tired of gazing up at the stars.

She found a cozy place, took out a scarf she'd been knitting, and settled in to enjoy the show.

"Find a book to tell us what to do next, I guess. Or Agnes. Agnes said she might have an idea what to do here."

"Ah. I think I'd go for the book."

"Yeah, but Agnes is friendlier than a book," Cally said. "You're probably right, though."

"I haven't talked to her much. But she mentioned the witch doctor who worked at the clinic for awhile."

"Oo, ee, oo, ah ah?" Cally offered, in a fit of silliness.

"Er, what?"

"You've never heard that song? Isn't it about a witch doctor?"

Nadia shook her head. "I don't think so. But I haven't heard all the music in the world."

"I might be crazy," Cally said. "Anyways, book. Yes. I'll try to find one next time the library is open, I guess."

Nadia nodded. "Or look it up on the internet."

"Oh, yeah, the internet," Cally said. "I forget about that."

"How?!"

"I'm from a different planet?"

"Oh yeah. Sorry."

"I guess it's easy to forget, since I don't have, like, two heads or pointy ears."

"Or green skin. Or eye stalks. Or claws. Plus, you're neither a tree, a giant face in a big aquarium, or a little thing that rides around on a sled."

"Yep. I think I'm good as I am, though."

"I would agree. Eye stalks would just be weird."

"Yeah, ew," Cally said. "Okay, so, internet. Then we can maybe make some booze that will land us in the sick bay, or the morgue."

"Perfect. Oh! We should test it on that kid with the mustache first!"

"I dunno, we never got to the part of exchanging names. He's gross."

"Let me guess, stared at your boobs the whole time?"

"Yep. And seemed to think I'd have an affair with him."
