Second floor common room: Saturday evening

It was Saturday night and Jack was feeling pretty damn pleased with himself for sucessfully teaching a class at short notice yesterday. And having expended such a huge effort, he figured he was entitled to be incredibly lazy this weekend, just to balance things out. So he'd gone for ice cream - of which there were several flavours currently residing in the freezer, which had a sign saying 'Ice cream: Help Yourself' stuck on it - and camped out in the common room.

He had a pint of Kahluah ice cream and a spoon, and was sprawled on the couch watching a movie marathon of something called westerns. Life seemed to be much simpler in whatever time period they were set: the bad guys had black hats and the good guys had white.

Jack thought it was a sensible policy -- it would certainly save a lot of misunderstandings.

[ooc: Open, of course - mod your ice cream flavour and help yourself!]

"It's been that long?" Evie asked idly, taking another scoop of ice cream and sighing happily. Possibly bouncing a little from the sugar.

Evie accidentally swallowed a huge lump of ice cream, and blinked at him, feeling the cold burn down her throat. "Ow. And, why don't you remember it? Were you in an accident?" she asked in concern.

Evie gave him a 'silly man' look, then a worried one. "Oh. That sounds-- rather drastic? Are you quite well? And, and, wasn't that difficult?"

"Well. All right." She gave him one last furrowe-brow of Oh Dear, then took another gulp of ice cream. "Will there be drinking at the Homecoming Dance? Or anything else I should be wary of?"

"Goodness." Evie's tones mingled dread and delight. "Do you really think so? Should I, I don't know. Take my brolly with me? To fend off attacks?"

"My umbrella. I'm sure the Americans here call it something else, but it has a very sharp point on the end," Evie said hopefully. "And it's marvelously useful for getting through crowds at Customs."

"Oh," Evie probably sounded a bit disappointed *and* relieved. "Then I shall just have to hide under the refreshments table, I suppose, in the event of an attack." Another spoonful of ice cream, and a bounce.
