Hallway outside the gun range, Monday after classes

It's perhaps best not to ask where Pete managed to get the giant rock that he had blocking the hallway, or how he'd managed to get it inside.

It was certainly better not to wonder what he was planning to do with said big rock, considering the size of his grin and the empty gun holster on his hip.

"What're we going?" Joxer asked, arriving.

Pete patted the rock. "This thing'll keep any body from tryin' to stop our liberation attempts. But we gotta paint the hallway on it. Can you do that?"

"I didn't bring any paint," Joxer said. "Is that going to be a problem?"

"That will make the painting on the rock difficult. Go get some!"

"Where am I supposed to find paint on this short notice?" Joxer flailed.

"Do I have to think of everything?! Use your brain man!"

Joxer fled, and then returned with a couple bottle of acrylic paints he liberated from a storage closet. And a brush, of course.

"Paint is here," he said.

"Great. Now, paint the hallway on it."

Joxer took his time, and carefully painted 'The Hallway' on the rock in big bold yellow letters.

"Done!"

Pete was busy examining the door to the gun range and didn't bother to check Joxer's work. "You're fast. I like that. Okay, now we gotta get ourselves in here."

"The door knob doesn't work?" Joxer asked.

Pete blinked at Joxer, then at the doorknob. "You mean it ain't locked?"

Joxer shrugged. "Won't know until you try, right?"

Pete looked from Joxer to the doorknob and back. "Might be booby-trapped."

Joxer snickered. "Hee, booby."

"Right," Pete looked Joxer over. "You open it."

Joxer looked Pete over. "You open it."

"Who's in charge here? Open it!"

"I don't want to open it!" Joxer said. "You said it might be trapped!"

"Well, I suppose we could break it down. . . ."

"Shoulder charge, on the count of three?"

"Agreed. Uno! Dos!"

Joxer looked around for these 'Uno' and 'Dos' people. He'd not met them before...

"Trees!" Pete ran at the door, bounced off, and ended up flat on the floor by the wall. "Why didn't you run?!"

"You didn't count!" Joxer said. "And I was looking for Uno and Dos. Who are they? Where are they?"
