Nadia hadn't worked on her adventure story in a little while. But she was typing away furiously at it now, occasionally reaching up to rub at her eye.

Not because she was crying, of course. She just had something in her eyes.

At present, Sophia was beating the crap out of two mobsters, Blaine and Bill, who'd been spreading rumors about her relationship with Mario that she didn't appreciate.

Blaine and Bill, of course, never stood a chance.

Joxer's jaw dropped.

"You think what?!"

"Blair's scrappier than he looks. He might not fight, but apparently he doesn't mind ripping someone apart with words,"

"So you'd rather have Blair as your hero?" Joxer asked.

"I'd rather never see Blair again."

"So... you want me to poke out your eyes?" Joxer asked.

"What?! No!"

"Ohhh, now I get it. You want me to kill Blair, don't you?" Joxer said.

Nadia facepalmed. "No, I don't want you to kill Blair. I just said that I thought Blair could take you."

Joxer scowled. "Then Blair could take you," he grumbled.

Nadia raised an eyebrow. "And how exactly did you come to that conclusion?"

"I beat your boyfriend, and obviously he could beat you, so therefore, logic," Joxer said. "Ha."

"Joxer . . . I beat you up. And what makes you so sure that Walter could beat me? And you didn't beat Walter."

"I did too," Joxer said. "And he's your boyfriend. He had to conquer you, therefore, stronger, d'uh."

"Conquer you," Joxer said. "It's the way these things go since the dawn of time."

"He had to conquer . . . me. It's been a very long time since the dawn of time, Joxer. Things have changed a lot."

"You're just not liking the idea of admitting he beat you, aren't you," Joxer said. "It's okay, Nadia. It happens to the best. I should know."

"Are you trying to tell me you 'conquered' Kaylee?"

"I haven't reached that point yet," Joxer said. "But it's on the list of things to do."

"You might want to take that off your list. It's ridiculous."

"Ridiculous how?" Joxer said. "It's the next step in our courtship!"

"It's not a step in any courtship! Relationships should be based on mutual caring and respect, not conquering each other."

Joxer just sort of stared like he was totally lost and confused.

Because he kinda was.

Nadia sighed. "Do you like her?"
