5th Floor Common Room - evening

Evie's having a *very* good day. She has a date for the Homecoming Dance. And somehow, she's been nominated for Sophomore court. It's probably a mistake, but still!

To celebrate, she's eating ice cream while doing her 21st Century homework. In a way. Spooky Things isn't a sitcom, but still...

Conner knew the sign of a caffeine junkie when he saw one. He'd spent most of his free time in the past year hanging out in an Internet cafe; he was used to this, and completely unfazed. "If you think that's good, you should try cookies'n'cream ice cream," he offered. "Especially the stuff from Chilly Boulder in town. The kind you buy is great, but when they crush up the Oreos fresh and mix them into the ice cream? It's awesome."

He twisted an Oreo in half, ate the cream filling, and balanced one of the cookie halves on his nose for a moment before flipping it up into the air and into his mouth. "Yep, I'm going. With Carmela, actually. You going with anybody?"

"Ooooo. I do so love ice cream. I barely ever had it at home, and what's available here is so *delicious*." She blinked at his trick with the oreos, then put her spoon down to applaud. "Very nice! And Carmela is a lovely girl, she helped me find my dress." Evie looked down, blushing a little. "Yes. Zack Addy. He just asked me today. Isn't that splendid? Now I shan't have to go alone, either!"

Conner took a silly little bow. "Yeah, well, going to a dance alone isn't all that bad. Long as you're not showing up with a portable video game for a date? It's all good, really. Still, having a date's always nice. Don't know Zack too well, but he seems to be a good guy."

"Portable video game?" Evie cocked her head, then giggled. "Oh, rather like me showing up with a book! And yes, I can see why that would be a problem." She gave Conner a little curtsy back, trying to look prim. "And all he has to do is *not* cancel, and I shall be perfectly happy. Well. It would be nice if he danced with me too. But if he doesn't cancel, that automatically makes it better than my last almost-date."
