Fifth floor common room, Sunday evening

Nadia was doing a lot more staring vaguely at the television than she was actually watching whatever was on it. She'd cocooned herself in her wool poncho after discovering that it was actually getting a bit too cold to sit on the roof for a long time playing her guitar, which sucked, and finding things to distract her from thinking about, well, things, wasn't working terribly well.

The dorms were pretty quiet today. She was considering doing something to shake that up, but . . . apathy was winning. So staring vaguely at the television was the name of the game right now.

[ooc: it's a common room. I'm not sure if it actually has doors that close. Thusly, it is open.]

Pippi had amused herself with general wandering about and thing-finding.

In fact, she found what appeared to be some sort of ammo canister with a lock on it. Which she decided to pick open in the common room.

Wise?

Who cares?!

Nadia watched Pippi silently for a moment before the curiosity conquered her apathy and she sat up. "What are you doing?"

"I think I found a geocache (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching). I'm gonna see what's inside."

"Where did you find it?" Nadia moved off the couch to get a closer look. "On the island?"

Pippi nodded.

"I found it washed up on the beach, I don't think it was placed there intentionally."

"Huh. What do you think might be in it?" This was just the sort of distraction she'd been looking for.

"Fun fact: it is crazy hot in Texas right now. Like, shorts weather hot," Pip said, stretching out his neck as he entered the room.

"Then I think maybe they've stolen all of our heat." Nadia smiled slightly. "Hey, Pip, good to see you back."

"Good to be back. Although I was actually kind of enjoying the warm weather."

"I know I would have. Everything go alright?"

"Well," Pippi said biting her lip as she picked the lock. "Prolly nothing so exciting as cursed Aztec gold... But something interesting I suspect."

Nadia found herself more interested in who had put it together. She watched Pippi's actions carefully. "With our luck, it's something cursed."

"Is that more of your 'thinking realistically'?" Pippi smirked.

"Yeah. Guard job on a train across Texas. We didn't even get attacked by outlaws riding horses or something cool like that."

"Hi Me-pi," Pip said. "How was life without me?"

"Pretty good." she said putting her arms around him for a hug. "Better now."

Pip hugged her back. "Anything interesting happen?"

"Found a locked ammo can washed up on the beach."

Nadia smiled sardonically. "Poor Pip, such a boring weekend, when maybe you could have gone to hell like I did."

"Yes. Now shut up and concentrate on the opening."
