Fifth floor common room, Sunday evening

Nadia was doing a lot more staring vaguely at the television than she was actually watching whatever was on it. She'd cocooned herself in her wool poncho after discovering that it was actually getting a bit too cold to sit on the roof for a long time playing her guitar, which sucked, and finding things to distract her from thinking about, well, things, wasn't working terribly well.

The dorms were pretty quiet today. She was considering doing something to shake that up, but . . . apathy was winning. So staring vaguely at the television was the name of the game right now.

[ooc: it's a common room. I'm not sure if it actually has doors that close. Thusly, it is open.]

Pippi had amused herself with general wandering about and thing-finding.

In fact, she found what appeared to be some sort of ammo canister with a lock on it. Which she decided to pick open in the common room.

Wise?

Who cares?!

"I think I found a geocache (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching). I'm gonna see what's inside."

"Fun fact: it is crazy hot in Texas right now. Like, shorts weather hot," Pip said, stretching out his neck as he entered the room.

"Good to be back. Although I was actually kind of enjoying the warm weather."

"Hi Me-pi," Pip said. "How was life without me?"

"Pretty good." she said putting her arms around him for a hug. "Better now."

Joxer was avoiding his own common room.

"Hi everyone," he said, trying to sneak in.

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not naked!" Joxer said quickly.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Hi Joxer!" Pippi said fiddling with a locked ammo canister.

[identity profile] joxertehmighty.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
"Hi Pippi," Joxer said. "What's that?"

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Pippi finished picking the lock on the ammo canister and pulled it open.

Inside were more then a few hand woven necklaces (http://www.whutaworld.com/jebigpage1.jpg) and a note.

Whomsoever should find this Cache -
Permit me to introduce you to the concept of the LUCKY NECKLACE!

Once upon a time, a friend gave me a necklace, similar to what you find herein, for good luck.

Long story short, I had a really bad week not long after that. (You could say my line of work is not the safest.) And for reasons I will not bore you with, I came out of it okay, but the necklace was destroyed.

My friend was happy I was fine and gave me another necklace, which she then replaced to similar reasons a year later.

At the time I sent out this cache, I had just received my 8th Lucky Necklace.

I know what you're saying, "Hey nameless stranger, if all these terrible things keep happening and you have to replace the necklace, how lucky can it really be?"

Look friend, I've been alive and able to replace the necklace after said terrible thing occurs each time. That's pretty lucky if you ask me.

Either way, they're nice necklaces. Take one, take two, pass them around, add more to the can. Just make sure to leave a few necklaces and this note and put it back where you found it when you're done.

Enjoy, and good luck.

"Yes! And see? Not cursed! Lucky!" Pippi clapped her hands and pulled one with round dark brown beads.

"You should take one."

Walter wandered in late in the evening and immediately stuck something into the common room microwave.

It's anyone's guess as to whether he knew he was in his pajamas or not.

"Mmhm." He stared impatiently at the spinning table inside the microwave. Apparently 10 months in Fandom had caught him up to the 21st century's insistence on having things now.

"But it's not as bad. I lost my weekend and got it back in time for school."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey Walter! Necklace?" Pippi greeted holding out an ammo can filled with woven hemp necklaces.

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
"No. Butler." Walter looked at the necklaces and thought they really didn't go with the butler aesthetic, either.
